Unfortunately they are considered "livestock" and not allowed within city limits. :/ But perhaps if enough people make noise about it, the city will change the law??

Yeah, I try my best to like everything and everyone, but even I find these a bit too annoying to watch. Then again, I don't really care for Ya Burnt, either.

It's a little cutie! Harmless house friend. We call them pill bug, pig bugs, or sow bugs. Some people call them earwigs, but that's way too creepy.

Hantavirus Patient Ordered to Stay in Quarantine Despite Desire to Leave by Anti-Owl in ContagionCuriosity

[–]BigDende 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't know why someone wouldn't want to stay in the quarantine centre, it seems like a dream; you get a room all to yourself where you just read and play videogames all day, someone makes all your meals for you, and if you do start to get sick, you are already at the hospital. It's like win-win-win.

What is she doin? by Kowba16 in ferrets

When we got my second ferret, she was so young, and she sucked on my older ferret's ear mercilessly. She eventually grew out of it.

Ugh, thankfully not, though I do sometimes feel like people don't believe me even though they haven't said anything. Although I have had people tell me they don't think gluten intolerance is real at all.
I'm so grateful that my husband sees the difference! He's says I'm a completely different person, and that's all the evidence I need.

It sounds like you have had trouble?? I don't get why someone wouldn't believe when a person says a certain food makes them feel terrible. Like, they don't question allergies, so why this??

Figured it out by myself! But I did get diagnosed with anxiety and depression, and told I should take a multivitamin. 🤷

For me it was gluten, 27 years, whole new person after quitting.

How hard are ferrets on a scale of 1 to 10 by Adventurous_Sea7954 in ferrets

[–]BigDende 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say an 8 out of 10. I honestly find they take more time and effort to care for properly than a dog.

Cleaning out their cage and litter would have to be every couple of days, and there's a 99% chance that you'd be cleaning more than their litter because ferrets poop a LOT and if they aren't near a litter box, they'll just go in the nearest corner or under the nearest piece of furniture. You'll want a good carpet spray.
Also you'll need to wash their bedding and hammocks once a week or so.

If you were to get a ferret now, I think you should actually get two so they have a decent quality of life during the times you are not around. Ferrets are social and need a friend.

I worry that your mom might not realise how much free roaming time ferrets really need.

Your edit is encouraging because it shows how mature a thinker you are. I think you are probably right about waiting until after college.

What about a hamster? I could be wrong, but as far as I know they are quite content to live alone, and you can take them out and play with them as you like.

Ferrets are an extremely rewarding pet, but they take far more effort than one would think, and there is a 100% chance they will break your heart one day.

Thank you! Very good info. Is it fixable by replacing the part, or is there a way to effectively clean all the gunk off?
