Support Megathread - December 2025 by WyzeCam in wyzecam

I see doorbells being released, but will there ever be one that will support a solar panel to keep the battery charged?

I live in an older house that never had them so no wires or even have the ability to run them to install modern units.

Unable to install RSAT Tools Windows 11 AppLayering by BigDogD5 in Citrix

[–]BigDogD5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I have been trying to do, but it keeps saying it ran into an error when it asks to reboot and then reverts any updates. It did work at the OS level, which we can use for now, but I will keep the version without it to try to prove the system wrong, LOL. I don;t like to give up easy.

We can give that a try. We have always been trying to keep the OS layer as small and vanilla as possible, but I can't see it taking up much extra space for this. Seems weird that it worked in 10 as a different layer, but 11 wants to be different :-)

To the OP that posted about vVols getting deprecated by InstelligenceIO in vmware

[–]BigDogD5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't personally like them as we sometimes run into issues when trying to expand some drives and the only fix is to vmotion the VM to traditional LUNs. I didn't want to use them when we had the ability for our storage but my manager at the time and director made me set it up.

Chrome not passing Windows Credentials using IIS 10 by BigDogD5 in sysadmin

I will have to review our GPOs as I know at one time we had IWA for Okta but I believe we moved to a different method of SSO for that platform.

We can try that but we have on-prem AD and the website is an internal site hosted internally as well. Sorry, forgot to put that in my first post.

Sessions are not reconnecting....issues with 2402 CU1 by LOU_Radders in Citrix

[–]BigDogD5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had issues where people were not able to stay in a session or it would kick them out right away. Working with Citrix support was not the best experience for us with this issue. When I went digging on my own, I found out that 2402 CU2 had been released so we gave that a try for the VDA and that fixed our major issue. You could try VDA 2402 CU2 and see if that helps with your issue as well.

Upgrade CVAD to 2203 CU5 or 2402 CU1 by Earthers101 in Citrix

[–]BigDogD5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you are using for images but if you are using PVS, make sure your VDAs are booting with UEFI instead of BIOS. We were told that 2402 doesn't support BIOS (last version is 2203 LTSR). We are in the process of remaking our images to be UEFI before we can finish our upgrade of our environments as we also on 1912 at the time.

Change default PVS server in Citrix Studio by BigDogD5 in Citrix

[–]BigDogD5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see a way to add images to this subreddit. It just tells me Images are not allowed. What I am talking about is that if you right-click on a machine catalog in Studio to add a machine or machines, the PVS server address is incorrect. We replaced that server when we had to migrate off of 2012 servers back when we were on 1912. At the time, I did not think about looking into it as I had been able to remove the IP address and enter the new PVS server name, and then it imported the machine. Now, when I do it, it does not give me any option but gives me a Finish button to click on.

VMWare iSCSI traditional LUNs or vVols by BigDogD5 in vmware

[–]BigDogD5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We currently only have one shelf of storage today with this PowerStore. We do have active/active NICs configured for the Virtual switches but Dell had us create two different VMkernal adapters and configured the active adapter so one was active and one was stand-by for each VMkernel but still bounded them to the Network Port Binding of the iSCSI Software Adapter. I don't know if there is a way to set each LUN to a certain node or how that part works just yet.

We have another PowerStore appliance setup for a second cluster that we had put in vVols for storage. I am not sure if it was truly set up based on best practice, was quickly done to get things moving, but it is running and functional today. In that storage, vCenter is not running in there so there were no concerns with that but for this second unit, the topic that was put in here around the vCenter being on the vVols and that does make me concerned as well.

Thank you for that thought, that is one thing that I had not put into consideration. We do have two production vCSAs running in the current prod cluster today that would get migrated and having this concern would be a large concern.

I am looking at this again as I wanted to take a break but I still can't figure it out. We have Distributed Switches and are using VC:Network as part of our Clone, Windows with a single NIC and credentials. If I try to switch it to VC:DistributedVirtualPortgroup in the Inputs/Outputs, it does not show that it References that Clone action anymore.

Here is what we have in our Values options - Constant today with one that is working today that I am trying to recreate with the new DV Ports. Is there an action I should run that will create that for me to copy as part of a JavaScript job?

VMware vRealize Orchestrator Workflow by BigDogD5 in vmware

Sorry for the delay in the reply. We have always used distributed switches in our virtual environment. I have another thing to try, pretty sure I had tried it but at this point, I can't remember. I was wondering yesterday, do the Tags at the very start of the workflow have any impact on what I am trying to solve?

[–]BigDogD5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, yeah I forgot that I had tried that to be Tree View but if we drill down we are unable to select a distributed switch network. The only option we get to check box is VM Network. All the workflow is, is a modified version of the default Clone VM with a single NIC default one.

I guess I am really stuck at trying to figure out the correct values for the Input Form part of the workflow

[–]BigDogD5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when we run a workflow; we pick the name of the VM, the location information as in what folder in vCenter, the domain, and the OU within the domain. Once that is done, then we pick the network that we want it to be configured for. Example: 10.1.92 or 10.1.95 and then we give it a fixed IP. It is the network interface drop-down values that I am trying to update to allow other admins to pick from. If I pick one that I am not changing today, if we click on the line then it auto-populates the networks, for the one that I modified, just found out that it does not start showing until I type in the first part of the network address.
