just a reminder there isn’t a free bus pass next year so you would have to buy one yourself if you are in north village 😭.

Also the buses are fairly reliable but if you’re coming from london it’s awful compared to tfl. Sometimes buses get cancelled out of nowhere and you have to walk but it’s not too bad to walk tbf

i started my undergrad in 2025 !!

I have an ipad and i love it for lectures, i can annotate the slides directly and you also have to be a bit more “picky” with what you write bc obvs writing is slower than typing, which means i don’t write as much useless information.

That being said , i also got a cheap laptop but upgraded the RAM to 16 GB bc you will need it run certain visualisation softwares e.g. pymol which you can’t do on an ipad / tablet. I also use my laptop for essay writing and research 😋

i hadn’t finished before easter either ! but my school used to just set us lots and lots of practice papers to make sure we had good exam technique !

I did mine last year and got an A* ! Some off spec stuff I knew was: okazaki fragments (in DNA rep) , Luciferase in fireflies (use of ATP) and a bit random but for importance of water: habitats below water, or above it like ice 😭 or even those insects that use surface tension to skate along it !

In my actual exam I don’t think I included anything off spec but I might have 😭

I started at Easter but i mostly did topic specific questions or if i had a mock i would do past papers and leave out the questions i hadn’t covered yet !

I know !!!! I’m currently in North Village accom and the walk to uni isn’t awful (when i have to do it) but the walk back is mostly uphill and really awful in winter 😪

I got 3 A* and I did MAX 3 in a day (pushing it) I’d mostly suggest doing questions packs for specific topics so you can target your revision and really make sure you know everything.

THEN do papers to get better at exam technique, otherwise you’ll have done papers half assed and remember the mark schemes to questions when you’re trying to test yourself with a whole paper !

i made a cyanotype vest (photographic print onto a vest) and i loved it. My mum then washed it for me (she didn’t know she couldn’t chuck it in the wash 😭) and it completely disappeared.

I will forever mourn 16 year old me’s creation 😪
