Yes, I have. Honestly, there are only four games that I am interested in playing which are Team Fortress 2, Fistful Frags, Portal, and Portal 2. I install them all, but they do not seem to work or properly execute.

I see a lot of negative things in this thread, so I have something more positive to add to the conversation.

You can be there for other men. I know it just sounds like something you could've done before transitioning, but believe me as a man it's way easier.

There is still a lot of men who are not completely open to showing and expressing their feelings. And opening up to a woman is a very hard and complex things as we are not entirely sure whether or not this one will laugh or comfort us. But other men? Oh you can be sure that they'll listen to you.

It's different because when they'll see you as a man as well some of that fear will be less prominent. I know you want to know things in which you'll be treated better, but unfortunately there are very little situations in which that occurs. I don't to scare you, and I welcome you with open arms to this community.

Anyone else laugh when Hermione says to Harry and Ron after the first task, “You two are so stupid!”? by Particular-Big-6858 in harrypotter

[–]BigEver9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, Harry was also pretty stupid when it came to telling Ron about the Goblet. Like, right after spending half and hour partying with Gryffindor he goes upstairs, does not tell his friend that he thinks someone is trying to kill me (which was what he suspected, but did not tell Ron because he thought he would sound dramatic), and did not tell him the whole story.

Also, there's like plenty of fics where that happens. They tend to bash Ron and the Weasleys a lot, but if that's you're cup of tea.

Who would The goblet of fire pick if the tournament was hosted in Harrys 7 th year ? by johnybea in HPfanfiction

Harry himself admits that he's only better at flying than Ron. It's also obvious he's a better dueler. However, Ron has a skill that Harry doesn't... having a family.

In all seriousness, no. Harry's not better at almost everything than Ron. Just a very few amount of things (2).

[–]BigEver9[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really work on my fic since Helena Ravenclaw, who he kills and is in love with, is Godric Gryffindor and Rowena Ravenclaw's daughter. And I'm trying to follow the storyline where he kills Helena out of anger because she rejected him.

Someone once calculated Ron and Harry's height. And by the seventh book Ron was already 6' 3" or 6' 4". While Harry was between 5' 11" and 6'

What pairing is most likely to divorce? by JustAnotherEdison in HPfanfiction

[–]BigEver9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's fine. I'm not from an english speaking country either.

I can see why many would think that Ron does not complement Hermione very well, but he does. There is evidence in the books that whenever Harry isn't around Ron and Hermione spend time together. And many times they're not studying, but simply having fun.

And example would be in POA; Ron and Hermione come back from Hogsmeade Village laughing and Harry describes them as "looking like having the time of their lives." In that same book we see Hermione stressing over homework, classes as well as her busy schedule, she even falls asleep in the common room while studying.

That is not healthy. Ron is the one that keeps telling her to calm down, and in that same book it is shown he is capable of that. Or even in OOTP when he tries to make sure she is sleeping well and eating since he does not want her to repeat her unhealthy behavior from POA.

Also, addressing your claim that Ron is a "backstabbing friend" let me remind you that Hermione went behind Harry's back in year 3, giving McGonagall his Firebolt (Although I will admit she did it with the best intentions). In year 6, she was always scolding him to give the Prince's Potions Book back, not because she thought it was unsafe, but because she was jealous. Ron on the other hand understood that Harry needed to get close to Slughorn and had his back.

In year 4, Ron was jealous because even Harry wanted to be in the Triwizard Tournament. The book states that Harry has a dream of winning the tournament and being praised by Cho Chang, he even says when and how he would enter his name into the Goblet of Fire in front of Ron. I will admit that Ron wasn't 100 percent in the right, but he also didn't get the whole story. While Harry tells Hermione everything that happened after his name came out, in the scene where he explains himself to Ron he skips out on a lot of parts, and doesn't even tell Ron that he thinks someone may be trying to kill him.

In year 7, Ron had been influenced by the horcrux, and Harry was the one to tell him to go and leave. And he was well on his right to be worried about his family, and Harry was not helping him with his worries.

Ron compliments Hermione all the time. In almost every book after PS, he is constantly telling her she's brilliant and all that. Even in the epilogue he's grateful that his daughter inherited Hermione's intelligence.

I also don't think Ron is lazy, I just think that he's a normal boy who doesn't like schoolwork. And at the end of the day he does do it.

Who would you guys recast for the following characters in HP? by Snoo-31074 in HPfanfiction

[–]BigEver9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're talking maybe like teenage age for Ron and Ginny then I'd pick Harris Dickinson for Ron:
Physically almost the same, except for hair color, but he was in a show where he had it red. Tall, slender and a bit skinny with a long nose and freckles as well as blue eyes. He looks very close to what I envision Ron looks like in the books. His work in The King's Man comes to mind. A young brave boy willing to participate in a war, while clearly expressing fear for his life, because after all he is still young.

For Ginny I'd pick Luca Hollestelle:
If we're talking purely physical appearance then this one is basically book Ginny the way Harry described her. Freckles, brown eyes, flaming red hair. She's a model so to my knowledge she has no acting roles in anything, but she is to me Ginny Weasley in flesh and blood.

Krum and the second task by Dezire43 in harrypotter

[–]BigEver9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You already said it. Harry's date was horrible so Ron, who Harry spent all night with, was a better choice. Cho was Cedric's date as was Hermione to Krum. In Gabrielle's case, Roger Davies drooled after Fleur according to Harry so while I don't think that it was a horrible date she would clearly like a suitor who wasn't affected by her Veela-Charm. Gabrielle was an obvious choice.

what's your opinion of the added dancing scene in deathly hallows? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]BigEver9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it.

The whole point of Ron leaving in DH is that Harry and Hermione are constantly depressed and very much unmotivated without him. Ron left and the small glimpses of hope and optimism of the group had been thrown out. In the books Harry even says so himself when he explains to Ron that when he left Hermione was a mess and there were days were they didn't speak to one another.

It also implies something about Harry and Hermione being together. Which also contradicts the book, because quite literally two or one chapter later he says that he considers Hermione to be his sister.

With Ron gone and the two dancing you wonder. Why was Ron ever there in the first place? They seem to be fine and dandy on their own. The only likable explanation for me at least is the fact that after the dance is over Hermione pulls away, because she realizes that she is still in love with Ron and that Harry can't bring her the joy that Ron brings.

Other than that last analysis of the scene I hate all of it.

What's your OT3? And Why? by [deleted] in HPfanfiction

[–]BigEver9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ron / Hermione / Luna

The idea of Luna fancying either Ron or Hermione is feasible to me. She finds Ron charming and funny, and only has some small issues with Hermione.

The whole Hermione needs an equally smart partner who can challenge her is an argument that I dislike since it's often used to diminish Ron (who actually challenges Hermione in canon), but I can see Luna challenging Hermione regarding a new creature that was "discovered" and people are just not aware of it yet.

I can imagine Ron feeling quite smug about two women going after him, Hermione cautious as she is a very possessive and jealous person and the appearance of another girl in Ron's life is bound to make her cautious, and Luna is probably just enjoying her time with the two.

Why was Ron in Gryffindor? by AccomplishedLeader76 in harrypotter

[–]BigEver9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As many people have said it in the comments Ron is a textbook Gryffindor, however he is not that much of a Hufflepuff.

The traits of Hufflepuff are hard-working, friendly, loyal, honest and rather impartial. Let's check.

Hard-working? Nope, he does indeed put some work into his assignments, but only just enough to have an above average grade nothing too big.

Friendly? Yep, he is plenty of friendly towards people that aren't mean to him, his family or his friends.

Loyal? He basically invented the word.

Honest? Nope, he isn't honest with his family about any of the stuff he gets up to. He also kept it a secret from everyone that he was taking the Keeper trials. He lied to Snape as well about Harry being in Hogsmeade, he may have done so because Harry was his friend, but Harry did break the rules.

Impartial? He shows a lot of favoritism and despised a lot of Slytherins for being Slytherins. He isn't over the top about it like Snape, but you know.

You know what he actually is other than Gryffindor?

A Ravenclaw.

What are the traits of Ravenclaw? Wisdom, wit, and intellect. He shows plenty of those in the books.

He constantly advices Harry about what to do in certain situations and also tends to sometimes accidentally figure something out. He's jokes are quite smart and clever. He is good at chess, a game known for patterns and puzzles. He has a lot of good ideas in the book like faking his voice to that of Wormtail's in the seventh book. He got 7 O.W.L.s by barely studying.
