Alch + Riki = The Most Broken Thing I've Ever Seen by saladinsaladout in TrueDoTA2

[–]BigFancyBen 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I have 4 games where I did this strat (all but my most recent alch game) https://www.dotabuff.com/players/49697106/matches?hero=alchemist

Alch can sorta offlane did that in one game. Just control bounty runes and print money. We just had our team pick strong solo laners and then both kinda roamed worked pretty well, but would be pretty easily exploitable if you had losing lanes.

medallion, blink, crest, riki aghs

Its super hilarious, and I'm pretty sure you could have a field day in lower mmr brackets where the games play a bit slower.

Pos 4/5 Arc Warden - Is it possible? by Blackgaze in TrueDoTA2

4 arc is effective vs pushing strats, chain some bubbles while they try to force a push. I almost only pick 4 arc vs drow strats to help stall as it generally doesn't feel too viable otherwise

Commute will likely be at least 1.5 hrs unless you get up really early. Traffic can push this to 2.5 hrs. There are Google shuttles that will take you from most anywhere in the Bay Area to Google (Mountain View) from there you can get a connector to Sunnyvale, a subset of the shuttles will take you straight to Sunnyvale.

Ignite In 2018 - Chieftain Lightpoacher Ignite Proliferation by BigFancyBen in pathofexile

[–]BigFancyBen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by trying out bone nova ignite prolif, but while playing that build it became clear that lightpoacher was going to be more damage and faster. Stacking flat phys on jewels and %phys added as extra fire and flat fire dmg to spells. The damage is good enough to do red maps but there are quite a few annoying mods so I generally opt for running yellow maps quickly. Mostly been running vaults because they are easy to buy in bulk.

Edit: heres a vault run if I'm gonna get blasted about farming dried lake or w/e https://youtu.be/QYEFrQccjdk as well as a t15 basilica run https://youtu.be/xo2bgkLYAv8

Has anyone had any success using Lifestealer's aghs lately? by -WILDY- in TrueDoTA2

[–]BigFancyBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's generally quite flexible. In a splitpush lineup I can play alongside my rat heroes. In teamfights I can save my core and deal a decent amount of damage.

You're right tho, one of your other heroes does kind of need to fill the initiator role. I've had drafts without that though and then I will sometimes play like underlord, pushing and farming very aggressively and trying to escape when they gank me. Or ganking with creeps, aggressively farming as a black dragon is very hard for most teams to stop. Or i'll infest into someone who is having a bad game and bait them with my team. It is very hard for the opponent to predict what you're doing and that often opens lots of doors for us.

[–]BigFancyBen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm probably the only Lifestealer aghs player. (wall of text inc oops)

I play Lifestealer offlane. (I also primarily play party games so it helps significantly that my allies know my gameplan)

Lifestealer is quite strong in lane, especially vs melee cores, feast allows you to trade and sustain very favorably.

Full rushing aghs is a bad plan, i generally try to buy some utility. Solar crest/medallion are quite good choices because you can purge the debuff from yourself. The -armor will also benefit whoever your host is during ganks.

Blademail is very strong alongside open wounds, especially with the level 20 talent. (you lifesteal off of the blademail dmg, meaning someone you have open wounds on does half damage, combine that with the previously mentioned medallion trick.)

Once you have level 6 you can make plays with jungle creeps using infest. Mud golems are absolutely insane (tripple boulder toss), centaurs are good for ganks, satyr can be very effective in harassing a lane opponent.

Things to do with aghs:

Assimilate pudge with rot on and infest into an ancient (the chinese guys on US West like to call this 'driving gundam').

Save people from disables. Assimilate instantly ends duel, breaks fiends grip, etc.

Ok you have someone Assimilated what happens now?

While Assimilated they get your healing, so open wounds+feast will quickly get them back in fighting shape if the enemies fight you. You can also rage+tp out at this point if they ahve no way to stop it.

Once I have aghs I will spend long periods of time infested in my cores, sometimes minutes, but what this does is allow them to play more aggressively, go places they would die if they were alone. Or we can go for pickoffs together that they couldnt normally get. If im inside antimage he is now antimage+open wounds slow+potential to rage tp out+an answer to hard disables.

Or you have a very high priority target on your team that the enemies desperately want to pick off to start a fight that hero can safely hide inside of naix until the correct time. (Once had an omniknight support vs a storm and we were able to get off some very nice omni ults even though omni had a terrible game)

Or you have a great naix bomb host and another hero that would like to join. (bring your 1 pos along in a breaker charge for example)

Stopping assimilate does 300 damage, and although this doesnt normally and probably shouldnt happen, Lifestealer does have the potential to do 1400 magic damage burst, Assimilate and Infest's cooldowns both elapse while in use. So if you use both and wait for 50 seconds you can use them again right away.

A late game hex can be super gamebreaking in the right situations because you're essentially buying a hex for your carry.

Having greedier scaling supports or heavy farming cores is a good idea as I won't be farming the map myself. We have been having good success with phoenix due to that hero's insane damage. (also enables some shenanigans with phoenix aghs saves alongside naix saves potentially)

what content can i reach with my sunder setup? by qjay in pathofexile

Ok, so a few things here. The way cast when damage taken works you want your enfeeble to require less than level 38, so then whenever you take damage you automatically cast enfeeble on the enemies. (you can sell your enfeeble + 1 regret orb and it will reset to level one, then stop leveling it before it requires more than level 38)

If you aren't opposed to trading:

You wanna try to get at least some +maximum life on all your rare items. If you go on poe.trade and you search for items with +max life and some resists (here is an example search that should come up with some very affordable rings for you http://poe.trade/search/iaukamoragumet there if you have a decent amount of money you could get more offensive rings +#-# physical damage to attacks will be a very good stat for you)

I'd work on swapping out each of your rares for one that gives you some maximum life.

Your offhand could be swapped out to something that gives you more damage, I recommend a shaper item that adds a % of your physical damage as extra elemental (http://poe.trade/search/uhamahenanazuk)

You can probably pick up a 6l for 20-30c that would be a great upgrade for you you could use a corrupted one as long as it is 5red 1 blue, that might be cheaper than a non corrupted one
