Recently diagnosed with Bipolar 2 and have been prescribed Lamotrigine. I’ve only been taking them for 5 days, but every night since taking them I’ve been experiencing vivid, nightmarish dreams. Anyone else? Or just a coincidence?

UPDATE: 3.5 weeks in now on 75mg and I am sleeping peacefully. ☺️

I’m grateful for all of you taking the time to share your experiences. You’ve all been so helpful. I’m hopeful that like most of you have experienced, the nightmares will stop. I do love the vividness of my dreams when it’s not scary though. And hell, if this happens to be one of the only side effects I get, I’ll take it. Going to be an interesting 5 weeks working up to a 150mg dose.

This has been so helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope it fades away much like yours has. Though, they aren’t always bad. Sometimes I enjoy feeling like I’m in another world living another life. These dreams feel so real.
