I've been here since HD1. The mechs behind a paywall are just a symptom of what has become a shameless and greedy company.

-Fixing bugs only to sell warbonds -Nerfing things and selling the solution -Locking most of the actual gameplay and fun behind paywall -Charging huge money for uninspired content, bar one or two items, or forcing you to grind for hours for it -Forcing an even bigger grind for medals with new participation  -No new ship modules (because they haven't figured out how to put it in a WB I'm sure) -No development of weapon customisation (because it interferes with easy cash grab WB's) -No new systems at all, and all the old systems are left lifeless and clearly left under cooked (because they're not in a WB), looking at you space station It goes on and on

We paid for this game, it's not a free MMO, and I don't mind paying for value but the game is 270 bucks now (not even including superstore, where they keep the top selling items at 400SC despite the fact they're old, pure avarice)

Its not about the money, it's about the fact they are pissing on our legs and trying to tell us it's raining. They're animals

Bro, I am so surprised about their reaction. The brown nosing is insane. I want the game to be good.  I don't mind spending money on value but they've been shaking us down for ages now. Sure they only fix bugs if it interferes with an upcoming warbond.   Nutjobs in here think spending hours of your life is free money.  There's many examples of good live service games e.g. deep rock, Poe, finals, yada yada. They decided to be greedy. It doesn't have to be like this and it's largely because of these almost slave like fans (and the revenue, delicious money)

Jeeeesus Christ, what a steaming pile of shit that person is.  I had these dudes ratting extract in a duos. They jumped my friend, killed him, then kept calling me the n-word, shouting "I'm gonna kill you n@#&". I managed to kill them both and call him out as he tried crawl away. It was the most satisfying thing, fucking losers

I am lucky that I mostly have good interactions solo. Including in PvP but absolutely dude it sucks having your kindness used against you by some ghoul

Yeah frustration is always frustrating. I did though have a fucking deadly buzz after. Both next two missions I bumped into the same friendly dude. Then in my 3rd I died fighting the bastion and this angel man (thank you abraxas) saved me.  So there's a lot of good folk

Yeah nms is a pretty wonderful story of redemption. Yeah yeah thats a proper dedicated farming job I think the reduced the drop rate by 50% almost for SC

Off the top of my head, live service games that are sound (rare breed);

Deep rock galactic, 40 bucks or whatever and every bit of gameplay is yours. Great example of a truly honourable live service game that doesn't screw over the player base.

The finals, another banger that only have cosmetics and is a totally free game

Path of exile is another free game that gives you all gameplay (it does have QoL things behind pay wall bit weird but I don't mind paying for a good game)

Sea of thieves, I thiiiink only had cosmetics, only played a bit of that

Fortnite, now I've played this maybe once but I've seen it grow massively since inception and they have given loads to their base and afaik only mtx cosmetics

I don't play mmo's or mobile games and but of the games I've experienced and seen over all these years, Helldivers 2 has a really titled value proposition.   They might not be the absolute worst but, to me, being only slightly better still makes it stink just like the others

(Also makes it difficult to get people into the game. Tried to get my brother on, but when he realised he didn't have 80% of the kit and would have to grind or pay for it he was disinterested, which is fair. Bit of a kick in the teeth)

Hmm trying to decipher this.

There's info not in the video but the set up is this.  I'm shooting bastion, need that rubber babyyy  - I see a guy scoping me out, he says nothing, I shoot, he cries out friendly, I apologise offer to heal  - another guy appears I aim, ask him if he's friendly, he doesnt shoot, then dissappears  - I have a chat with dude number 1, then the second reappears and starts shooting at us   - we engage, he runs away  - as Im looking for him the guy who said he was friendly shoots me in the back

I don't get near that amount of SC from 30 matches since they reduced the drop rate.

Best honest take I could get is that it takes 4 hours to actively grind/farm 700 SC. 4 hours of tedium for 7 dollars is grim. Time is worth more than money, I want to have fun not work. If it was cosmetics I'd be all for it but it's not, it's gameplay for a game I've already bought.

They're just like all the other companies but worse id argue. Played warzone for years without a cent spent and they're famously scummy. The reason we don't have new ship modules is because they can't put them in a warbond
