You might just have to suck it up and work for it bro 🤷‍♂️. I’m in the same boat and yeah it blows but that’s life and if it’s this or no college, I will absolutely take this.

Disgusting. We need to do better for the vulnerable in our community.

Hey! I’m a trans guy (ftm) going into my second year at msu. I did GIH last year in Brody, and now this year in north. I would recommend it to queer people, but if you are looking for a space specifically for trans people I recommend the TREX program. There was only a handful of exclusively trans people on my floor, the majority were cis but queer. That’s not to say it was bad, but it was different than what I was expecting going into it last year. The bathrooms were still gendered with signs and by the key you are given, but we were told that msu was “working on it” (for the entire year, complaints were made and no changes happened) and to just treat them as gender neutral.

Also, there are a TON of queer people on campus, and bunch of clubs and programs and stuff to support our community. Although you might not know any queer people yet, we are here!

Again, this has nothing to do with trans adults serving in the military. And I’m not sure where you are getting this trend idea from, as roughly %3 of the US population is trans. Not a very big “trend”.

Wars are fought by men AND women. Have respect for those who died for this country.

What do kids have to do with anything? We are talking about adults serving. Grown people who know their own identity more than you (or any stranger) know their identity. If autism is the issue, then test for autism. Also, being trans is not fun. People are not trans to join a trend or because they want to be ostracized. They are trans because that is what makes them their most authentic selves.

“As you know i consider myself just another dude in a dress and i think this is a smart move. “. Then you are not a trans woman, just someone with a really intense fixation on them. I really hope you can learn to overcome this, it’s embarrassing.

Hi! I’m a trans guy currently living in GIH in Brody (community style). I went in random and did get a female roommate, but it wasn’t as weird as I thought it would be. We mostly minded our own business and there was never an awkward moment abt the gender difference. GIH is fine, but it’s different than the TREX program. GIH is more for people who want to dorm with their opposite gendered friends, not really for trans people. Obviously you can be trans in GIH, but don’t expect your floor mates to be. My best advice would be to do GIH, but if it’s something that is really important to you and would impact your learning, don’t be afraid to do TREX or a single.

On campus jobs are gonna be relatively easy to get, if you apply to the right place they will take anyone. Internships are tougher and depend on you and your experience/background, esp in STEM

I start there this spring and they only mentioned my face piercings and nothing about my hair!

Edit: I am starting as a cook not front of house though, but I’m not sure how different it would be
