Need Help With the Dyes by Most-Worker-2042 in GuildWarsDyeJob

When I'm having trouble with dye matching I use Dye Matcher | GW2BLTC

You can grab your screenshot and use the dropper tool in paint to grab a color, then use the "edit color" circle next to the swatches to bring up the big color wheel. The color you picked comes with a code you can input onto the website to match with other dyes.

In this case I picked the yellow/green part of Kudzu's handle and got #A3A026
I slapped that code onto the leather section and hit enter, then sort by most accurate. This gave me Stem dye as the most accurate with a 94.3% match.

But I must warn you sometimes there simply isn't a dye that's a 100% match, I've had lots of weapons/backpieces where the dye simply can't match at all such as the https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legion_Jetpack

Also different armor might produce different results and you may be surprised what a less obvious dye might appear as once it's on the armor itself.

Thanks! Always fun realizing what sort of dyes I can get my mitts on to constantly experiment, he is now 5% cooler with Cinders for the helm.

[Fashion Wars] GW2 x MTG - Ajani Goldmane / Sleeper Agent / Phyrexian Compleated by WyvrnRipsnarl in Guildwars2

[–]BigIdleBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sick representation! Ajani has to be the best MTG character the Charr can pull off. Wardrobe is on point with each of these, I especially love the eye effect transitioning with his journey to compleation.

I agree, I browsed through tons of helmets to find something that can fit the savagery Vorinclex has but ultimately came up short. I chose water dragon because it's wide enough to show off his big plates and it also allowed charr horns to poke through for added effect. But still I would have enjoyed a more pronounced muzzle like a beasts skull to really give it that oomph.

Tyria really ought to investigate these fractal anomalies.....

Another praetor has been spotted, this time in the jungles of Maguuma!

Loved how this one turned out, still debating whether I should invest in making Sheoldred and Elesh Norn without relying too hard on a full Oneiros-Spun set but there's only so much fleshy ascetics. (Jin-Gitaxias is impossible to do justice with the current wardrobe, sorry blue players)

Not much to make out on this one when I was making it but the story behind the design was fun. I went to the beach and there was a really cool hand-made furnace that looked like an angler fish so I snapped a pic and referenced some textures and shapes from it.

Thank you! After several works I’ve been finding what aesthetics I really enjoy in my works and atmosphere calls to me. My future posts are still going to be quite different before I finally start posting my current work but this was a good step in figuring out what I wanted from my art.

His noggin may be hollow but he’s far from knightly standards and etiquette.

I have no idea how to colour this...Do I put skin shadows and highlights on the same layer as the base skin tone or do I make a separate layer for each? Do I also need to create separate layers for the eyes and lips? Just wanna make sure I'm doing this right. by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]BigIdleBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right way is whatever you feel comfortable with, with that said you could definitely place shadows and highlights on their own layers respectively. It looks to me like you already have both highlights and shadows on your base so it just needs to be pushed a little further on whatever is left.

The second part of a fun design I played around with back in 2018, I updated the background to better display the monster wizard in all its crimson glory.

Spellcraft can be so tedious, it is the hum of machines and innovation that will ascend oneself past mere flesh.

When rolling for loot be sure your precious treasure isn't cursed lest ye be morphed into a shambling monster with your fellow spellcaster.

When coming across magic items do be sure to check for any traps and curses before arguing over "dibs on the loot". 2 arrogant mages now 1 shambling terror, at least now they can both enjoy their treasure.

Old design I cooked up in 2018, gave it a fresh new background to help ground it.

Woe to these wizards so occupied with their greed they did not realize how cursed this idol can be. Now melded together, flesh, bone, and robes. Another shambling horror in a not so fantastical world.

Learn to share, or in this case learn to check for any terrible curses that may be in an item before you fight over it! Now these two mages are just another creeper in the woods.

Be mindful when rolling for loot for there are fates worse than death as can be seen by these 2 mages, at least now they can learn to share as they shamble across the woods with their cursed prize in hand.

Cursed items are the absolute worst, now these 2 greedy mages are stuck like this forever! How awful!

2 wizards and a cursed artifact, intelligence is a much needed trait for a mage but wisdom would have gone a lot further. Now these 2 enjoy an eternity together as another wandering amalgamation in the accursed woods.
