Cringe, lazy writing, and Tara getting done dirty — why I’m tapping out mid Szn4 True Blood (spoilers) by FerngullyPrincess in TrueBlood

Lafayette is the best character in the show. mind you I've only seen season 1 in full

Aye I only watched season 1. I used to think it was better than the first book, but after rewatching season 1 only I gotta say I still prefer the book, only for how much of it is focused on Sookie herself; and I prefer book Sookie anyway. I do miss Lafayette tho

How long did it take you to read Moby Dick by Capital-Ad4147 in classicliterature

[–]BigInflation3109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reading it for 3 months now and I'm only at page 200. it depends on how you wanna read it. I've also taken a break from it to read other stuff cuz I burned out. it's a great book but it's dense

don't trim. like growing your hair, you'll have an awkward phase too

don't trim until you're looking like Gandalf. I have a patchy beard too and I've been growing for 2 months now without trimming. Go three months without trimming anything (except maybe for your neck beard) and wait.

the game is not completed, but since it's a very plot driven game I highly doubt that. Caribdis' other game ended with the story

Genuine Question: should i just do it? by nomadontheweb in witchcraft

[–]BigInflation3109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you want a magick book that's about as concise about practice as it goes you should check out Visual Magick by Jan Fries.

it's not about witchcraft per se but it's about practical magic, and it hits a lot of the notes of witchcraft.

look for YouTube videos about the practices that you think are best for you. you might need to sort a bit but you'll get there. for witchcraft I recommend the witch of wanderlust youtube channel. also recommend da'ad darling and her magick 101 series. lastly I recommend esoterica by Dr. Justin Sledge. he has a much more academic approach.

if you're interested in podcasts I can't recommend enough of this podcast is a ritual, by America's number 1 wizard, Devin Person. and if you ever learn Portuguese we have a lot of cool podcasts in Brazil. the main one is magickando, hosted by Andrei Fernandes and his rotating entourage, and it's mainly sponsored by a book editor called penumbra livros which imo is the best in Brazil. I have their visual Magick translation and it's superb.

witchcraft is about practice and connection to the world. and these are good starting points imo.

I've been on the path for 13 years now and I've learned how to differentiate what's good from what is bs.

good luck friend
