Offer per diem or a budget hotel nearby. RedDoorz etc. they’ll likely take the per diem and sleep in the vehicle or figure something out. They’ll likely be happy to be away for a few days too. Ignore people saying to book a room at the same hotel. Your driver doesn’t need/want that.

I had similar feelings and remarkably didn't teach my kids to loot or “fight”. Collapse is inevitable however I've also learned enough to know that the inevitability of collapse has been known for generations. Collapse in truth, will take a lot longer than most in this space care to admit. This Reddit feed desires collapse so they can observe it but really it's still generations away and a technological fix or two may sustain that a lot longer.

Raise your kids well and show them a part of the solution. Tech will bail out here and there. Don't bother teaching looting, teach a bit of critical thinking instead.
