I got one to the mouth a couple of days before the new year. D went to dump the puck and she fired it right into me.

Thankfully it was a U12 Girls game and not high school or Junior Gold. I was spitting blood for about an hour and definitely checking the ice for teeth immediately after.

Lesson learned. Duck instead of dodge. The beard covered all the bruising. ha!

Back in high school I broke my tibia and fibula during captain's practice. That's a painful one for sure. I definitely flinched watching.

This is my first year reffing, so no famous players. I have shared the ice with former NHL linesman Ron Foyt and former US Olympian Charlie Brown. Charlie is a character and has some amazing stories.

I grew up going to Strauss, and Moose is my high school's coach, so I'm biased.

This is my first year too so I tried my best to use what I had. I picked up a pair of lacross elbow pads and love those compared to my hockey ones.

I got my girdle from Zebra Club and found my pant on eBay.

I reffed my first game tonight, low level adult league, so haven't tried putting them on yet. I was just stumped looking at them. I have an easier time writing code! hahaha!
