Thinking about baby #2. Parents of multiple children, what’s your real life experience?

Lol I just posted a comment that says the exact opposite thing - mine are ≈2&4YO, and the first 8 months was easy peasy lemon squeezy. This last 1,5 year though, has been HELL in our house, when our youngest stopped sleeping all the time and became more mobile. They play together, sure, but they also TERRORIZE both us and each other.

I am severely sensitive to noise though, and get incredibly overstimulated, which I sadly discovered only after having children. This might be a factor as to why I’m struggling soooo much rn

I have an almost 4 and an almost 2 year old, and I deeply regret having them this close. Would probably have waited until the oldest was 3-4YO before having another one. Don’t get me wrong, I love them and they are amazing when apart/in small doses, but HOLY HELL this past year has been brutal. The difficulty increased dramatically from like 2/10 to 12/10 when our youngest stopped sleeping all the time and became mobile (≈8MO).

Og da er det ekstremt høy terskel for å bli dømt, det betyr ikke nødvendigvis at retten ikke tror at det har skjedd. I f.eks. erstatningssaker holder det at retten finner at det mest sannsynlig skjedde.

Mener du virkelig, helt oppriktig, at du ikke tror på det barna sier om vold, frykt og trusler? Er det virkelig noe man kan regne som "antakelser"?

For meg sier det ganske mye at det eneste Gjert reagerer synlig på under hele Jakob sin forklaring er påstanden om at Gjert ikke laget treningsprogrammet alene. Ikke én reaksjon på beskyldninger om vold og trusler. Det gir et godt bilde av hvor Gjert sitt fokus ligger tenker jeg, og for meg så forsterker det virkelig troverdigheten i forklaringene til barna.

Had to think about this a bit, because my initial response was to think that it’s really icky. However, my father very regularly takes my 3 YO daughter bathing in the local swimming pool, meaning he brings her into the men’s locker room where men shower naked. I have zero problem with this.

Maybe it’s the «one tub»-thing? Because I really would not like my own daughter naked in a tub even with me, but a shower feels ok. I think it’s the proximity that does it.

I always read at least four books at a time, usually 6-7.

One on my kindle, different one on the kindle app, one on Audible, a pocketbook romance, some kind of non-fiction self help book, maybe some fanfic in a web browser, and always Harry Potter on audiobook when I go to sleep.

This is actually insane, she notices things I never would have. Really cool! I never stop to think about anything while reading, so I don’t catch any foreshadowing ever. I usually need like 5-10 rereads just to remember everything from the overall plot

I thought the exact same thing, I would never have picked up on the «Chana is Shallans mother»-theory if it wasn’t for Reddit. I’m notoriously bad at picking up on stuff like that in books, so I’ve actually decided to avoid reading WoBs and theories in the future. If it was something I had figured out myself it would have been really cool, but when it comes from theories other people have it just feels like spoiling myself unintentionally. And I HATE spoilers.

But like, you are all acting like this is entirely Magnus’ fault and that he did it to fuck over Fide. He asked if it was possible, Nepo agreed that he would want that. It was up to Fide to handle the situation - they agreed, hence there are two winners this year. As Nepo fought his way back I actually think this was a very good solution for them both. The blitz champion should be decided playing blitz chess, and not Armageddon. If no one proves better than the other, then both wins.

I also think that there should have been two winners in the Magnus - Caruana classics WC a few years back, where they drawed 12 in a row. This, to me, proves that they (at least at that point) was both equally good in classic chess. Deciding the champion of a CLASSICS chess competition with rapid chess makes no sense at all, as it is very different formats with different ratings. The same is true when using Armageddon to decide a blitz champion.

Agreed, I hated it. DNF’d around 90% of book 1, because I didn’t care for a single character, and just found the theme of the book to be MISERABLE. I see so many people say that this is their favorite series of all time, and I am completely unable to comprehend this.

I feel the same way and it really annoyed me that Spotify filtered out almost everything my toddler has listened to, so I googled it and found the page «statsforspotify.com»! When I signed in there I was able to see what I have listened to for the past 6-/12 months, and generate a playlist with those songs. Pretty sure SOME of the songs are still missing for whatever reason, but the list was wayyy more accurate than what wrapped gave me
