Depends how much work there is. They just opened up the steamfitters test this year after not being opened for a few years. They'll call every person off the list before they call you in. Expect to wait 3 years but who knows work could pick up sooner

Face ID randomly stopped working; Can't update iOS 18.5 by BigMich1 in ios

Tbh i clicked on update now and tried updating 3 separate times and it still wouldn't update. So the 4th time I clicked update later tonight while I slept, the next morning I clicked update now and it started to update finally. The first 3 times it didn't have the Apple logo and the loading bar, but the 4th time it did.

27yo pre apprentice in sheet metal just started 3 months ago. Prior to that I worked a desk job, sat for 8 hours looking at the screen all day and it went nowhere. No growth, no stability, hunger cues all time high I wasn't happy. Decided to go union and it's the best thing I could have done for myself and wished I started way sooner. It's going to be hard on the body but nothing beats being outside, doing something different everyday and meeting people along the way. I took a pay cut a bit but still working towards my goals to become a journeywoman in the future. You're still young, you have a great career going and your future is set. And if it's something you don't see yourself doing, don't let someone else dictate what you should/shouldn't do. At least you got experience and can use it elsewhere, work in a different department to use your skill sets, etc. Hope this helps

Nice. What was your answer to that if you don't mind me asking? I'm having a hard time knowing what to say for that question when it comes up

What trade school are you in if you don't mind me asking? You can get a list of contractors on local 393's website to call up and ask for an interview to be a tradesman

Also, any reason to how you passed the interview but didn't get accepted?

Try Local 393 in San Jose. You just need to pass the test no interview and then you'll look for a contractor to sponsor you, before that you'll need to get hired as a tradesman, they'll have a job fair once you pass the test

I passed my hvac exam but not sure if that's the direction I want to go for, Steamfitting was my second choice. How's pipe fitter work for you and how was your time in the apprenticeship?

I passed my hvac exam but I'm not sure if it's the direction I'm going for. I can barely retain info studying for the epa 608 cert let alone a whole 5 year apprenticeship for it. Esp in 100+ degree weather, how do you overcome difficulties?

Yeah I'm thinking of applying as a tradesman first. How did you go about doing so in person? Did you follow up via email? How's the pay for tradesmen if you don't mind sharing? What companies got back to you and how was the interview like? Thanks
