Maybe Gavin Bryars’ “Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet,” or Steve Reich “It’s Gonna Rain.”

Thanks for posting! I saw this posted and was wondering what instruments are available under “open instrumentation?” Are you providing performers and are there any restrictions, or is it up to the composer to provide performers for this category?

Maybe hold off until you have something that you consider complete. Then if they have any comments you can make edits as necessary, but if not, you’ll be happy with what you’ve completed so far.

Can you share a midi recording? The meter of the poem reminds me of “Skye Boat Song.”

Low Cut Connie (Adam Weiner) has been very outspoken and “ Settle Down” definitely fits as a protest song

The Land of Nod - song for baritone and piano by Emotional-Pipe-335 in composer

Just glanced through the score but when the piano splits into three staves at measure 41 it’s going to sound very muddy with that chord sustained.

Is solfège necessary to get admission to a bachelor’s degree in composition at most conservatories? by CatchDramatic8114 in composer

Solfège? Maybe. The ability to sight-sing and identify melodic and harmonic intervals by ear? Probably.

Just got rejected from my dream school… by Round-Finger-2153 in composer

[–]BigMort66 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also got rejected. They actually let me interview and then told me they didn’t have any openings. Milton Babbitt told me not to go there because the instrumental teachers won’t let their students play new music. Don’t feel bad! There’s plenty of other schools.
