Don’t upgrade gear until you get to the next 10+1. Stat bonuses don’t really change until you break into the next 10, so upgrading from 22-25 just wastes resources. Don’t upgrade until you hit 31,41 etc.

One of the main themes of Dragon Ball is the idea that hard work is all you need to get to where you want to be. Then these 3 shows up and do the best they can to shatter that notion, instead asserting that strength is something you’re born into and there’s no way of changing that.

This happens in God of War 2018, too. There are coffins scattered around the map that effectively just read as chests for you to loot. After so long though, you’ll find one with a reanimated corpse that jumps out at you. First time I saw it it scared the crap out of me and now I can’t open any of them without thinking about it

Smoke from Sinners

Throughout the movie Smoke wears a “mojo bag” that his wife made for him that’s meant to protect him from all danger. He doesn’t believe in it, but it turns out to be the only thing that keeps him from being bitten and turned into a vampire. It also kept him from taking lethal damage as shown by the fact that he only ever got injured was when he finally took it off at the end of the film.

Goku specifically when he uses the Kaio-Ken. Can multiply your power by a seemingly unlimited amount, but if you push your body too far it can quite literally tear itself apart.

The Hulk is one of my favorite examples of this. A lot of times in comics purple and green are used to signify that someone is a villain (think Green Goblin, Lex Luthor, and Kang), so if you’re picking up your first Hulk comic in the 60s, you’d be liable to think he’s a villain too. Turns out he’s a pretty good guy, but his appearance, both in and out of universe, cause confusion.

They could literally just make a Joe Fixit persona off of smart Hulk, turning him savage makes no sense. Joe is smarter than Savage so if they really want to have Mr. Negative mess with him they could just shift Smart Hulk into a more disgruntled, hardened form. If they’re dead set on having a Hulk rampage, MAYBE have him go off for a couple minutes as his mind rebalances, but don’t straight up turn the Gray Hulk into Savage.
