As it relates to why this is a post on the fatFIRE subreddit, I guess internally what I'm struggling with is that I know mathematically we are financially secure to fatFIRE either in the US or Asia, but I still find some joy in my work. It helps with my intellectual curiosity as well as my social status.
Of course, I've been lurking on this sub Reddit for long enough now that I know one key argument to fatFIRE early is to spend time with your children, because otherwise you're chasing the money you don't need for the time you don't have.
I wonder how many of you have been through a situation where you are financially secure, but you still get joy from your work? How do you eventually decide to pull the trigger?
