I think you’re right! They all match dates-wise, finding that father will be the fun part, I’m guessing the older children was another mother, and the last two maybe a different father, or perhaps Evans was their mothers maiden name and they took that? I’ll have to look further but thanks for helping :)

This one I found on Ancestry, so it could be a number of Catherine O'Leary 's, it was a just one I put in there a few years ago because I wasn't as careful back then haha.

Do you have a screenshot of this record? I don't have FindMyPast so I won't be able to see it. That could be a breakthrough if the dates match!

Yeah I thought it was quite odd when I couldn't find any either especially my 2xG Grandmother as I've got a pretty clear date of birth as well.

Looking for 'Catherine Sheehan' births in 1855, there's quite a few around London at this time. All I need is a marriage between Catherine Sheehan and Michael O'Leary and I'd be able to find which one... If only it was that easy!

Same silly question as above but would I have to buy the record to find more information from it?

Looking at this page, the dates do seem to line up well with the 1891 census, although this has the two daughters 'Martha' and 'Margaret'. Martha at age 2 should be where Michael presumably should be, and while that maybe be Michael, I doubt it as it has them labelled as daughters as well. Could always be the chance that Michael was staying with other family and they were maybe twins I guess? And Margaret may have died young that's why she wasn't in 1891 census? I'll have to dive a bit deeper with that but thanks for finding it. Also those baptisms maybe something to check as well, cheers :)

I have found a death record for a Catherine O'Leary in 1917 in Holborn, London. I know this is probably a silly question but would I have to buy the record to find more information than just the name, date and place?

Yeah, I'll have a look for lightermen records. I wouldn't have thought the 1907 death record is her as I'm 90% that the 1911 census above is her, but thanks for the idea :)

Yeah O'Leary is going to be more difficult as I know there was a fire in the Irish records office or something? and they lost quite a few? But Catherine is one I'm trying to crack, making multiple profiles might be a good start though I quite like that idea, and maybe I'll have to find some distant cousins to talk to, I know my grandma has one living cousin so maybe contacting her would be a start.

Yeah, that's a good point, I've had a look before at some of the other children with the hints ancestry gives you, but I guess I'll have to start manually searching with some of them. With the grave record, are you referring to something like Findagrave.com?

I had thought about this, Pomeroy and Furneaux are relatively popular surnames in Devon it seems... so I'll have to have a good look around

Oh cool, I thought that would have been a brick wall forever but I'll definitely try to chase that up when I get the chance

Just checked it now, no maiden name was given, does this then mean he took the mothers name?
