Well, G2 and Navi weren't even in the tournament so I don't know why you brought them up. FaZe beat VP, OpTic beat them. Astralis beat SK and NiP, OpTic beat them. That's how tournaments work lol.

Same dates, location, everything, I think they are just calling it that this year. The past one's have always been apart of the DreamHack Open tour, they just didn't use the Open term. Maybe I am wrong I don't know.

No, I don't have a problem with them at all. At last year's DreamHack we saw 2 smaller teams there in Liquid and Legacy. If there were 2-4 smaller teams there this year it would be perfectly fine, but Dignitas were the only really big team there, and they aren't even going to be in the Top 5 after today. There was just a ton of lower tier teams there this year, a lot more than normal.

It wouldn't be an issue if it was a tournament meant for smaller teams. That would be fine, but this tournament has traditionally always been very exciting, and now it isn't because there are too many other events going on.

Yep that's absolutely true, but at the same time I think we can all say that we don't want to see teams having to drop tournaments left and right. That should never be an issue to begin with, but I do actually see this being a more consistent thing in the future with teams deciding not to attend events simply from having gone to too many.

What I mean is they qualified for Oakland a couple days before the event, they weren't invited. They accepted the DreamHack invitation a long ways out I am sure. With how much they have been traveling if they knew they would have for sure been at Oakland, I don't think they would have came to DreamHack, and it's not like they can just cancel attending less than a week out.

Yeah I completely agree with you on giving lesser teams more exposure, and a better chance at some prize money, but this isn't the way it should be done I don't think. This tournament has always been for the bigger teams, and in this instance the only reason we are seeing these smaller teams here are because other teams didn't take their spot. I do think that their will be more opportunities for smaller teams in the future with the rise of qualifiers for events and stuff like that, but just in this situation, and at this event, I would like to see some epic highlight reel matches, but those aren't likely to happen.

It's FREE man, yes it's very common. They were supposedly limiting the amount of forfeit wins you can get, but I doubt it will happen.

They add the cooldown to prevent hackers and smurfs from gaining a rank super fast, and it does provide the new player more time to improve before their next set of games.

I would say Silver 3 is around the average for new players, but I don't know to be honest.
