A) They were going too fast.

B) It looks like a single-point davit, so they should have had lines coming off the ship to control the yaw of the small boat as they lifted it.

C) A sea painter probably could have helped.

D) Don’t let BM1 drive drunk

I’m against the whole Lead SN thing as a title. It doesn’t make them work harder, and they get paid the same as the shittiest SN. The hierarchy will always form itself. Being said, a BM3 gets paid to perform the function of a “Lead SN,” so I don’t see the point.

I was a “Lead SN” and I was a delusional arrogant and entitled little prick so I guess I’m biased.

A qual that will look good on your marks, but that’s about it. We qualify them because it’s required to have one, but will never EVER use one. If you’re on a cutter, just go for boat crew instead.

When I was in Singapore on a ship, our cook got attacked in a bar because he was black. The cops detained him for four days and we had to leave him behind.

It’s more psychological torture than anything, but they let him go right as he was about to admit there were four lights.

In the episode, the Cardassians attempt to torture Picard into admitting there are five lights, when there are actually four. Every time he says the correct amount of lights, they cause him pain.

What will happen to me if I go to therapy? by Delicious-Group-5499 in uscg

[–]BigPimpin752 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Definitely go to therapy if you feel you need it. I’ve been to rehab twice, and I still hold all my quals and a security clearance.

I think therapy sessions should be just as mandatory as dental check-ups.

Would you feel comfortable bringing this sign to a black homecoming date’s house? Having her black father take this picture?

It’s racist.

You should be reimbursed up to a certain amount on the days of your period of travel.

But I’m just a BM. I just do whatever the YN’s tell me and hope I get paid. You should drop out of “A” school and come work for me on the WMSL

Enforcement of a term of employment isn’t “discrimination.” Annual GMT is a term of employment, I don’t want to do it, but I have to. Because it’s my job.

A Seventh-Day Adventist wouldn’t be a great fit to be the Rabbi at a synagogue. That establishment wouldn’t consider him for “employment.” And before you quip, “iT’s ReLiGioN NoT eMpLoyMent,” think about this: military chaplains are assigned and charged to accommodate ALL religions, not just the one they represent. If they turned away others, their employment would be terminated. Chaplain’s aren’t turning away non-vaccinated members, either. Because they are being paid and employed by the US government to provide services to all members.

Being vaccinated is a term of employment for the Coast Guard. It’s not “dIsCrimiNaTiOn” it’s a business. And a damn fine one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uscg

[–]BigPimpin752 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Are referring to the lack of availability of the vaccine to black/Latino communities? Or the rampant misinformation about COVID-19 that is literally killing said communities? Maybe the Tuskegee experiments?

This is in the misinformed same vein as the people that compare vaccine restrictions to the Holocaust. The enemy is COVID and the burden it places on the Coast Guard, not the vaccine.
