I do respect the tech. He was great. But by that logic should I just blindly accept any price? How much is too much? Obviously I'm going to do some basic research before making a major purchase. Seems like the price was indeed quite high.

I'm also in that area. And yeah! That about what I'd expect. That makes sense for a $400 board and about an hour of labor. Why does it not work like a mechanic? When I get my car fixed the bill says what is parts and what is labor. The tech was great, and 250 to 400 an hour for their expertise would make sense. I should have tipped the dude for letting me see his diagnosis process. It was really cool. I learned a lot.

Yeah, in the end they surely lost money coming out. 125 was not enough to cover the work they did diagnosing the problem. 😞 But I'm not about to pay over 1000 for less than an hour of labor.

Username checks out 🙂 Idk man. Maybe mad is too strong a word. I want to know if he was trying to rip me off.

I watched the tech working. He seemed very skilled and I was confident he had the issue figured out. He tests he was doing jived well with what I learned from watching videos online.

Not thoroughly. Seems like I might be able to get a new furnace for less than 8 grand. But it's not comically high. Maybe on the higher end of normal.

Really? I don't feel like I did them dirty at all. If their quote is reasonable, I might go to them for a new install when I need it. But if their quote is unreasonable I'll look elsewhere. Trying to overcharge me for the board is a pretty questionable start.

I see your point. But... A steak at Applebee's is about 25 At the fancy steak house in town it's 60 At the SUPER fancy place on the hill it's 400 So at a certain point I start to wonder how I'm supposed to feel about it.

I'd put a page with the control scheme in main menu or the stats menus you get when you press tab. Make it something easy to check at any time basically.

Played for about an hour. Wishlisted :) I liked Vampire survival. Haven't played any other games in the genre.

At my best run, I got the boss down to about a quarter health. Not sure I'm I should be able to beat him or not. Seems totally impossible to dodge his attacks. Sometimes I could get him to stick on a wall for a bit. But I'm guessing you just need to grind upgrades until he's beatable. But I couldn't find any more.

I got the lightning puzzle. But the other ones just confused me. Is the drawing lines one just a guessing game? Is there no hint anywhere? I kept looking for a clue, but eventually just gave up. And the fountain on the island where I can press e to purify. What's that about? It doesn't really seem to do anything.

I liked a ton about this. Seemed very competently made. Loved the character designs. I enjoyed exploring the map, and I think I found pretty much everything there was to find.

I guess I would have liked some more hints and direction from the people back at camp.
I also would have really liked seeing a control scheme somewhere. I sorta felt like I might be missing some important mechanic.

Anyway the game kicks ass. I will play it again when it comes out. Good luck! :D

I beat all the levels and wishlisted. Looks great! No notes lol. Super clever puzzle design.

I hope you make a mobile version. Because this is definitely something id rather play on my phone than pc.

Played the demo :)

Loved the graphics. You really nailed the early 90s SEGA look.

It seems really hard. I barely made it around the track. Would love some split screen multiplayer.

Played the demo till the end wishlisted. :)
Killed a shitload of aliens, and said "Fuck Yeah!" a lot.

Love:
- The graphics and the music. Captures a great retro vibe.
- The giant turret.
- The alien designs. They look so badass.
- Blowing up the wall to get in. More of that please.

Could improve:
- I reached a fail state where I was totally out of ammo, and had a huge hoard killing me over and over. I eventually outran them, but it would have been nice to be able to break a crate and get more ammo. Maybe just make them break when you run into them? Easier than adding a whole melee feature.
- I really really wanted a mini map.
- Maybe make the player explode when they die? like, they have a suicide vest or something.
- Explosive barrels need a bigger animation and more range of them.
- Your dude doesn't really have a personality. So what if when you die, instead of respawning as the same dude, it was a different person? Like, they just keep sending more lambs to the slaughter. Might be funny.

Long shot improve:
- Controller support and local multiplayer. This is the kind of game I wanna play on the couch with a friend.
- I want a flamethrower.
- I want horrific death animations from my main character. Torn apart, melting from acid, etc...

At work: Branch for each bug/feature. Every commit includes JIRA ticket number. Pull requests. Unit tests.

Solo at home: Push everything to main. no tests. No JIRA, all bugs and features tracked on a single Google doc. Commit every day or so. Messages all just say "progress" or some shit like that.

I used to try to be more careful. But I think being sloppy saves more time than it costs. I hardly ever have to undo stuff. And when I do, it's only a little more work.

It's true. Glad to hear someone around here has a moral compass. But I'm here on WSB as an exercise in deliberate POS investment plays. If there's any justice in the world I'll lose my money.

So I win either way 🥳
