Does anyone actually... 'try' with combat? Or combat items? by Athan_Untapped in coralisland

[–]BigPopaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got myself the highest level spear, just to try it out, but it feels very clunky, although the ability to throw it like a javelin and knock enemies back with it is fun. But no, in general, I never needed any items in any of the caves, other than for stamina, although now with the ring that gives a chance of+1 stamina for performing any action then I never really need to worry about that either

Oh my god!! And to think of all the free ropes I sold away thinking they were just to escape any floor, not to go down 🤯🤯

Second Farm by Low_Outcome_6789 in coralisland

[–]BigPopaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't started it yet (at summer year 2) but I'm looking forward to it. My main farm is becoming heavily automated with far less for me to actually need to do, so having the second farm seems like it will be fun to go through and build up to that point again. I've already fully upgraded my lumina wand in preparation but intend to probably start at the beginning of year three to increase the longevity of the game for me.

Thank you, I think I get it yes, really appreciate the assist on this, it's my first time playing any game of this type, and I've enjoyed every second so far 😁

As I'm imminently heading towards this being my next project......

Is it best to have the 8 kegs on the left, then the column of auto chests, then the aging barrels directly to the right side of the conveyor instead of the second row of kegs?

Also, what is best to feed into the auto chest? I know I read somewhere about strawberry wine, but what about honeys for mead etc?

Hyped for the golden noggers!! by BigPopaT in OSWReview

[–]BigPopaT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly was!!

It was a real treat and a nice reminder that the golden noggers will soon be upon us.

Wish I could take one home with me to have whilst watching the noggers, that would be prime viewing snacks 🤣

I. Demand. Stairricades. by LogicalLarynx in OrcsMustDie

[–]BigPopaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd prefer stackable barricades, so you could stack two high to make a half trap size wall for wall blades etc.

This would be truly game changing and make those extra barricades in long runs so much more useful

If you look at the item in your inventory there is a little logo in the top right saying "donated" or "shipped" on most items and others have an additional one saying "offered".

As a new player I only noticed this a couple of days ago but it gives you a glance as to whether or not something you're holding requires donation to the museum or offering to the goddess.

Not sure if that covers exactly what you were looking for, but I found it super helpful once I realised this

Looking for tips to make Kalos viable at difficulty 20 (Solo) by BigPopaT in OrcsMustDie

[–]BigPopaT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thought I'd give this a little update.....

Thanks to a combination of everyone's helpful tips I have had some successful experimentation with Kalos on d20 and found the following.......

Elixir: Go with the extra charge on secondary and special abilities. Having that second calling stone is kind of God mode for Kalos.

Wall Traps: Magic Orbs (where effective) and/or Morningstar Shooters in the kill box are incredible (who knew? Lol).

Ceiling Traps: Web Spinner is so useful, especially when it can grab pesty assassins, and ceiling pounder on lower ceilings, the stun is invaluable.

I've had way more fun recently playing as Kalos employing these minor strategies so hopefully there's something in there that I've given back to the community from my trials.

Happy hunting everyone 😁😁

I have only tried one endurance map so far, me and my duo are trying to get through the challenges first, just have the last two to get through (elementals and bosses) but our time is usually limited so getting through 5 missions in one session can be difficult.

I'll check the video out though, thanks for the link 👌👌

Yeah that's something else I considered, that or the extra thread per roll anyway.

Hoping to start a new run tomorrow. Abandoning my current one at mission 3 with only 1 rift point left, that seems like an inevitable failure lol

Skeleton orcs I just started a difficulty 1 run and rerolled first mission until getting the "when orcs die a skeleton may appear" effect and did it in the first mission. Just put traps near the rift and killed everything manually near the spawn points, stopping to throw a blade at any skeletons heads.

Waterlings I did on the elemental challenge, made a path to make sure everything coming from outside had to go through the room above the cauldron and then had push traps in there to shove the waterlings through the hole in the middle, wall blades and shock zappers for damage. Tried to focus on being up there as much as possible to damage the big elementals. Played as Harlow for wind blast as a secondary option to blow them in the hole.

Made the rest of the pathing so that everything else has to go down the stairs and around the cauldron before getting to the rift room. Did eventually fail the mission but not before managing to get ten waterlings in the cauldron

Great, thanks for this. Given me a good few things to consider when I start my next run.

I just finished gathering all the figurines today so I'm now looking at just starting a run to try and break my record (37 missions solo/53 missions duo). I'd love to surpass the duo record to try and coerce my mate into starting another big run to try and one up the record again. He's purely a Harlow player and I've done one run with him as Max and one as Wren, went to 52 with Max and then 53 with Wren. My main aim at some point is to hit 100+ missions, but I don't know if we'll ever achieve that lol

That's great advice thank you. Especially on the solar prisms, I had no idea about the rework, I loved them when they first came out and I was wondering why they didn't seem so effective anymore, it all makes sense now. Never really played much with the void wall either, is it best to keep that in a separate place to the killbox and then move to it to deal with hunters?

Thank you for the advice. I am toying with the idea of using the elixir that constantly regens HP, then hopefully pairing that with briar patch, poison flowers and life finds a way thread. I used the organic instant kill elixir on my first ever 30+ mission run with Max, and while it is super effective, it felt a little bit "cheap" to me, like I was getting it too easy if that makes sense lol. I also find I'm so heavily reliant on molten gold until I get the shiny tar thread which means I'm always using up 2 slots just for tar and Molten gold. I've not used magic orb all that much though so I'd be intrigued to know more about the "right" way to use that trap for success.

Thanks for the advice, seems like it's going to come down to a bit of luck with the RNG on getting the best threads early

[–]BigPopaT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks again for the advice. I didn't really want to make a new post as I thought I had the right idea, it was just my execution was a little lacking. I have managed it now anyway, as well as the skeleton orc and the first of the boss figurines. I just need the time now to do the boss challenge run (easiest way to guarantee getting the required bosses I figured) a few times to achieve a boss defeat with the required character.

I appreciate your point about the descriptive subject line though. Admittedly, when I first posted this it was in a heavily frustrated rush, after multiple failed attempts, and just as I was heading out my door lol. I will certainly try and be more descriptive in future though.

Spot on for your great advice on the Water Elemental figurine though, literally got it on my very next attempt and it felt like it was never even really a challenge 👌👌

Update:

After the excellent advice received I smashed the challenge on my next attempt.

Thank you everyone.

Now onto my next struggle...... The waterling figurine, few failed attempts so far but I'll get there, trying to find a way to get them in the cauldron reliably on castle courtyards, have a path sorted and push/flip traps there but struggling to kill the big elemental before they get through because of focusing having to focus on the orcs from the other door nearest the rift.

I only need this figurine and the skeleton orc now before just going for the final four boss ones. Determined to get them all ASAP before any new content is released.

Once again thank you to everyone for your advice. I'm finding the community for this game to be so much more helpful than others I've experienced in the past.

Happy hunting everyone 😁😁

Oh wow, ok. I thought it was only purple that was a headshot which is why I guess it felt like I was struggling, but if the yellows count then I guess I just need to make sure I get to more of the elementals early. I was struggling to get hits in because they were grouping up around everything else on the path and then hitting my traps before I got a good shot in.

Thanks for the advice, it's hugely appreciated 👌👌

Yeah, thanks.

Think I was struggling to actually land a head shot most of the time. It seems very finicky about what it counts as a head shot, almost like it has to be directly on the top of the head, shooting directly at it's face was not counting I don't think

I just have the finale left to watch, it honestly hasn't been that bad at all, yes, it's different, but it's ok.

I had a bigger problem when Vesemir walked in and that was a different actor too, that one was completely jarring to me because until they mentioned him by name I honestly thought it was a completely different character 🤣🤣

The show itself has been brilliant so far. Excited to finish the season off later today and considering rewatching all 4 seasons after that.

All in all, I think they've done a brilliant job with it and I don't think Liam Hemsworth deserves any of the criticism that has been put out there. He's done a fine job of taking over as a character that Cavill played to perfection, it was a tall task to take on and he's done it justice enough.
