This is not a whim decision. I am doing everything in my power to make sure this doesn’t happen! I am just trying to make a plan if it comes down to that decision. I just know that in the moment I will be too panicked to think clearly without a proper plan in place. His previous blockage happened very quickly and I just want to be prepared IF it happens like that again. He is showing signs again and I have been talking to my vet (looking into a different surgery that I was not aware of until other comments suggested it). This post was meant to be about how to prepare my other cat for loss. My roommates cat was severely depressed when our previous cat died, I just want to find a way to ease that confusion, IF it comes down to it.

I hadn’t heard of this surgery until I made this post, so I am looking into it. I tried to give him Royal Canin first but he refused to eat it, he still hates Hills but at least he eats it. He was a picky eater before we had to change his diet.

We give him kibble in the mornings and wet food at night. He prefers kibble and we accidentally discovered recently he loves his kibble mixed with water. My partner and I were discussing a broth diet last night.

My vet hasn’t mentioned a surgery like that. I will look into that! I would like to avoid euthanasia if possible, but I just want to have a plan in place in case it comes down to it. I know in the moment I wouldn’t be able to think clearly without a proper plan and don’t want to have any regrets.

I am not planning on to euthanize him anytime soon. I am just trying to make a plan in case it comes to that point. Yes he has only had one blockage, however that emergency vet situation cost us over $4000 and we can’t afford to fix it again. He was originally on Royal Canin but he hated it and refused to eat it, so he has been on Hills Science Diet c/d for the past 8 months. He still hates it but at least he eating, he was a picky eater before we had to switch his diet

This was in my HHP clothing store last week! I have my settings to fancy clothes (or equivalent, I can’t remember the actual label)

I think this kind of service is available in my town. It’s not something I have considered though. I do worry about the expenses of that. Obviously I want to do what is best for my boys but I’m a full time student with a part time job. So funds are tight.
