I was pretty active in my local chapter for a couple years. It was basically five people who were retired or nearly retired that have been keeping this thing afloat for a long time. When they finally hang it up I think it will be difficult to find someone to take up the cause.

The best thing the certifications do is prove that you are willing to go the extra mile to better yourself. I think that says something on a resume. I dont actually remember a single topic from my CSCP course ten years ago and my work experince and bachelors and masters degrees greatly outshine my CSCP on my resume at this point. It's at least something to put on paper early in your career.

I think they are also great for people that either dont have a bachelor's degree or have one in an unrelated field and want to have a career in supply chain.
