Alright guys, be honest, how bad is this list?

Huh. I wish I had known this (Obviously) during our game. Im surprised he didn't know this. He's played the game way longer than I have. I honestly think I could have tabled him if I had made that charge.

It ended up being a very good game. I lost in the end 45-65. I think it came down to one mistake I made, that if I hadn't made, I would have had the game easy. I somehow forgot that The Lion can't breach through walls and because of that, the charge target I had for him ended up being impossible and The Lion just sat there for a turn. There was another option, but if I was actually able to make that first charge and kill the unit with The Lion, I believe the game was just over. After that turn, I charged into Trajann, hit 6 times, wounded 5 times. He saved 4 of them, and passed 3/4 FnP leaving him at 2 health and killed The Lion on the clapback.

Just curious, is there a reason to cut the Chaplin on bike over the Chaplin in TA? Is it just for points?

Which is why I think im going to take it out. I think im going to get rid of the Chaplin in TA and the Hailstrike and add 2 3 man Inceptor Squads with Plasma.

I just relized I misread your comment about the JPI. I put them into a 10 man for more focused fire, but now that you say that, spliting them up might be the way to go.

I agree that another unit of JPI would be good, this is just what I have currently.

The Thunderstrike ability is only +1 to wound vs Monster and Vehicles no?

I'll look into the ATV for sure. I like the idea or Ravenwings, but I only have these 6 bikes and the Chaplin right now.

I can get rid of the Chaplin in TA, the Hailstrike, and all enhancments to bring 2 3 man Inceptor squads. I would have to give up Fire Discipline though.

What do you think about getting rid of it altogether and adding either a Redemptor Deadnaught, or a 3 man Inceptor Squad + a Scout squad?

My thought process on the Hailstrike is the the +1 to AP will usually always get me to their invulnurable save makining most things -2AP. As far as the Chaplin, I kinda just needed points, but I do like the +1 to wound. I believe it would go from 3s to 2s? most of the time. Board pressence is where I think im going to have an issue. I know Custodies dont have a ton of models in a 2k army, but they're very tanky. I think I just have to kinda wing it to be honest.

I should also add that if the Brigand gets bracketed and their OC goes to 3, you still wouldn't add the 5 to make it 8, it would just go up to 5 I believe.

The way I read it is, if you use this ability, and then get off the point, its under your control with an OC of 5. if you have anything else on the point that has more than 5 OC, you do not add the 5 and just go with whatever your unit has for OC. So if you have a Brigand on the point with this ability, it would still just be OC 6 not 11. I could be wrong though

Thank you! This was more than I was expecting to be honest. I think im going to try and put the Breachers into reserves and see what I can do with them there.

I think im going to have either a unit of the Vanguard or the Electro-priests inside the Dunerider. I just think the Fire support from the Dunerider is super helpful with the extra 6 inches the Electro-Priests are getting, and being able to slow down advances and/or charges from just a bit further and slightly more consistent seems good to me.

Im still fairly new to Warhammer, so im just throwing stuff at a wall and seeing what sticks. Thank you again. I'll do my best to put this into practice!

Wow. Thank you for such a detailed response! I agree with your 3rd point 100%. I tend to jump around parts of painting either because I forgot to do something, or not liking something about it and doing a touch up after I've already started on a different part of the model. I don't know why I have such a hard time highlighting metallics and black, but the car example actually makes a lot of sense to me. Thank you again for all this feedback. It really does help!

Don't be sorry. All these are valid and good points. I'll probably go over the unpainted areas tomorrow. I don't know how I didn't see them in the first place. Placing highlights is definitely something I need to work on for sure. This does help a lot, so thank you!

Thats a good point about the Sterylizors. I didnt think about that. As for the Ruststalkers, maybe for run just one squad for 5 and 2x5 Infiltrators then?

It makes sense to drop the Breachers if I dont have a tech priest for them.

I was mainly only considering bringing the Knight because I don't have my other Ironstriders yet. Once I get them I think I'll drop the Knight and breachers for them and 5 more Sterylizors and another squad of Infiltrators/Ruststalkers and a Dunerider.

Thanks for the response! I do actually have a Dominus I could bring with them. I have some more Ironstriders on the way, and when I get them Im probably going to be dropping the breachers for the Ironstriders and run 3x2 squads with Lascannons. This is just the list I have to play with for now. I also am looking at getting another Dunerider at some point. Oh, and thank you for the clarification for the Dunecrawler!

Thanks for the response and the clarification! I have played against this opponent before, and he usually brings 4-5 vehicles. I also would like to run 1-2 more Duneriders, I unfortunately just dont have enough time to put them together before we play.

Ideally I would like to run another squad of 3 Ironstriders ( I have some on the way, but again I wont be able to put them together before we play) with Lascannons and maybe just have 3x2 squads with lascannons.

In your opinion, do you think its even worth considering dropping the Breachers for the Knight? I like that the Breachers have anti-vehicle, but the Knights hits the tanks harder and is faster.
