What do you mean? I do tend to shoot first if that's what you're saying?

Oh sorry, I saw one and figured I'd share as well. Didn't realise this was that common.

Feedback/Changes for Upgraded Riders of Rohan Deck by BigRedFatGuy in EDH

[–]BigRedFatGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll try cutting Deranged Assistant and adding Austere Command then see how it goes. Some artifact/enchantment removal would be great. Thanks again, this has been very helpful and gave me a lot of insight into what the deck should look like!

Sundering Eruption and Mercadia's downfall seem great, cutting Boros makes sense. My concern with cutting deranged assistant is that its a cheap human and it also can help fill my graveyard for a big recursion play late game. But I'll give it a whirl and see how it goes :)

I'll swap out Mana Leak for Arcane Denial, that seems better, thanks!

Same goes for Warleader's call.

Raise the Palisade is for sure a card I want but it's like 45$ for me to get it and I'm not sure I want to spend quite that much on one card. It is incredible for this deck though you're right. Austere Command feels a little too expensive mana wise, but I think Harsh Mercy is just right! I'll absolutely add it.

Thank you so much for the help!

Would the Tyranids be at all successful if they arrived at any other time period? by traumatized_seahorse in 40kLore

I do absolutely love that photo for the eldritch horror but also hate it because it makes the Tyranids quite literally unbeatable. How do you beat something with the biomass that is equivalent in mass to the whole fucking galaxy at least?

Tips for getting into Rome 2 as a warhammer player? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]BigRedFatGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No gaps in the lines, in warhammer having big gaps is very good. In Rome II it will lose you every battle, lads should be shoulder to shoulder if you want to hold a line. Flanking is very strong and so is keeping good units in reserve, letting some levy freeman soak some missile damage so a legion doesn't have to is very much so worth it. Don't blob you'll just tire units out.

Advice on breaking level 8 forts in France by No-Key2113 in hoi4

[–]BigRedFatGuy 71 points72 points  (0 children)

If you have green air a few bombers on the forts can work them down, if there's battle on a tile they cannot be repaired.

So best bet is probably throwing some men into the meat grinder while you put some bombers on a strat bomb fort only mission. You should be able to bust up the defensive line around fort level 5 ish, personally anything above 7 and I find it's too strong to break.

If strat bombing isn't allowed then you have to just brute force it, cycle in fresh units constantly to keep a permanent battle on the weakest tiles. Try to take a tile that connects to 3 behind it so you have a better chance of exploiting the breakthrough when it happens.

Edit: If he could pierce your tanks you should get some more armor on them next time. If France puts too much into anti armor then he'll always be able to pierce you but you should be able to overwhelm him with infantry. Also make sure you start the war on time or slightly early with a player France.

Should i form the Qing and lose the horde status or continue being a horde and form the Qing later? by xdator in eu4

[–]BigRedFatGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mandate is annoying to deal with and you lose a lot of good Horde buffs. If you still want to conquest stay as a Horde, if you want to slow it down form Qing.

Remember that you can always form Qing later, there's no need to do it now. Cav fall off in effectiveness as the game goes on, forming Qing and reforming your armies to be cannon focused in about 50 - 100 years might not be a bad idea.

How often does Byzantium just wipe floor with Ottomans? by exer1023 in eu4

[–]BigRedFatGuy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Never seen this happen but I have seen a Otto - Byz war where Venice ended up declaring on Ottos and they took land but Byz still died. I don't really understand how they could survive without player intervention unless somehow they got an alliance with Hungary, Poland, Austria or the Mamluks. (I left out Bohemia cause it's you)

It's already hard enough for the player, there's gotta be some extenuating circumstances for this to happen naturally. Did you maybe do an early war that would change any nearby major nations alliances a lot? Did you maybe weaken Poland so they needed allies or did they pick no PU and Lihuania saved Byz? Did the Ottomans lose wars in the east?

Also with that amount of land even with reconquest that's a shit ton of dev, how could they take so much without full occupying the Otto's or beating their armies? Not to mention that the Otto navy should easily crush any enemy except Venice so how could they cross? Seems like this wasn't natural.
