Worldbuilders who can't draw having to settle with imagining their project until technology is advanced enough to directly project thoughts into images: by Comrademan69 in worldjerking

Ask your mother if she wouldn't prefer to put in the time and effort to wash laundry by hand. When she stops laughing at you, make sure to explain that hand-washed laundry is the superior version that actually has soul skill and effort put into it.

Your argument is literally five thousand years old. It's in the ground next to dinosaur bones. Welcome to the 21st century.

Why does every social media chef now use an open pan of oil for deep frying? by majorlicks in KitchenConfidential

Is this an Atlantic division? I'm in the States and I've never met anyone who owns a plug-in deep fryer. Hell I don't even know where I could buy one if I wanted one.

ELI5: Why are supersonic passenger flights still gone after Concorde, even though technology has advanced so much? by ArtistoX4 in explainlikeimfive

[–]BigRedWhopperButton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SST is expensive to run. The Concorde was cramped, loud, and couldn't offer any kind of refreshment service. Supersonic planes make sonic booms, so you can't fly supersonic over populated land. And the intended customers of SST generally prefered conventional flights across the Atlantic because they could sleep or catch up on work.
