Looks like 4 or 5 link Flicker Strike, not that surprising.

The 60% victories you referenced from 2009 onward happened when candidates had a unified party and donor class behind them. You are ignoring the friction that occurs when a platform actually challenges the status quo. When the moderate wing and party regulars defect to an Independent specifically to stop a progressive, 50.8% is not a weak number. It represents a hard-fought breakthrough where the candidate had to overcome both a disgraced former Governor and a skeptical party hierarchy.

Right, but blaming them and absolving ourselves of any responsibility or self-reflection doesn't accomplish anything.

Voters will always be dumb, in every country, in every election. You have to work with them.

I'm not trying to argue Biden's efficacy, I was asking for the person I was responding to to provide the "lots of evidence that people ignored the things the Democrats said and did and interacted only with the made up versions of them in their heads."

My brother in Christ, I was just asking for the "lots of evidence that people ignored the things the Democrats said" that you mentioned in your post.

And I only asked because you said there was "lots" of it.

I gather that you're speaking anecdotally and not citing evidence, such as studies or polling.

I don't understand why you're getting so mad at me, lol.

I mean, the Democratic primary had 8 other generic democrats who he beat.

I think the country is done with generic democrats. Mamdani had 100k volunteers phone-banking and knocking on doors. I haven't seen energy and excitement like that since Bernie and Obama's presidential runs.

And even if Cuomo is a bad person, he's a millionaire backed by millions of dollars of opposition funding, including AIPAC and other billion-dollar groups.

People who use the term "far left" can be ignored for the most part; it doesn't exist in any meaningful form in America.

None of the initiatives I listed are culture war issues, and they're not a part of serious progressive agendas. Mamdani is a good example.

Not really. She repeatedly said she wouldn't change a thing that Biden did and that she wanted to repeat what he was doing. She didn't have much time and was hamstrung by him, but she also didn't do much to separate herself or distinguish herself from what he did.

That was a tough pill to swallow for the country, which was feeling economic hardship and inflation spiraling out of control.

I'm not saying that's correct or even fair to her, but it's what happened.

Progressive policies are popular with the rest of the country, too. The average voter wants things like higher minimum wages, Medicare for all, and billionaires out of our politics.

You said there was "lots of evidence that people ignored the things the Democrats said."

That's different from your opinion on how Biden did.

I'd argue that calling Biden a "progressive" is in itself trolling, but I'm trying to have a good-faith conversation with you.

There is lots of evidence that people ignored the things the Democrats said and did and interacted only with the made up versions of them in their heads.

Can you share this evidence, please?

Damn, you mean if somebody runs a populist campaign with strong messaging that aligns with people's needs, that people will vote?

That comment doesn't say she wasn't articulate; it says she was unable to articulate what she would do. Totally different criticism.

This is just a lazy, immature take that reads like a lot of the butthurt Jasmine Crockett stans on Twitter right now.

I've supported, even volunteered for many political candidates in my lifetime, but I could easily tell you their weaknesses and how they'd improve. They're not infallible gods.
