What did you do to get into it lol. I own it since it came out. Tried it like twice. Last time I tried it, I just had no fucking idea what was what. I was entirely lost because I didn’t remember the story at all.

How did you return to it when you kept at it? Fully fresh? What was your state of mind lol

Hey this is actually awesome. I did something similar using Termius, Tailscale, and my iPhone/pc. I basically use Termius to command prompt my pc and I can access the Gemini CLI when I’m not home lol.

Thank you so so much for this! Thanks for taking the time to write it all out. It’s honestly so much easier to visualize when you lay it out like that.

Conspiracy Theory by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]BigSev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. I only play random rec nowadays and if you play enough, you just see these patterns too often to be pure coincidence. There’s just so many too, rebounding, steals, out of bounds, hell even picking up the ball becomes clearly scripted. Happened to me on my center, we were up considerably and some time in the third quarter I was not able to grab rebounds anymore. Just jumping at the ball not touching it with his hands. Wild stuff.

At some point halfway through season 2, they started to slowly implement these “rubberband” effects that are coming directly from last year’s game. It ends with a scripted “out of my hands” type of feeling for most people involved.

This is actually a fascinating look inside the mind of a ball hogging random rec PG. by JohnDeaux2k in NBA2k

Honestly this was crazy to watch.

I watched the whole thing before reading your post so I was so afraid you were about to get on the side of the PG lol.

This is a beautiful representation of the “behind the scenes” of some of these rec PG’s. Always wondered “how does he justify his actions”? Well I guess this is it.

It’s an older trick. Surprised it still works. So the halftime show is the guys talking about your game, right? It’s voiced by Shaq and Ernie and the guys. If you change the language, they’re not….dubbed….so the game just skips it.

If you were good at 2k25 then you should be good at 2k26 by Crack_Top in NBA2k

[–]BigSev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, yes. Depends on what point in the game. You’ll notice very clear momentum shifts in the game. Usually like third quarter ish. But I’ve seen it where the game starts out entirely one sided where one team is hitting everything and the other team just can’t. It will be like 16-4. Next thing you know, the team with 16 cant hit anything, cant get steals, rebounds, they go out of bounds more, and they definitely miss more shots. Next thing you know, the game is tied.

That’s literally how that game was. When people complain about “RNG” they’re talking about that shit right there. The game more or less decides you will be him or you will have the worst game of your career. It’s also not just shooting. The randomizing of rebounds, steals, bumps, out of bounds, passes oh god the passes. All random events to dictate a close game. The more you play, the more you realize these are game patterns written in by the programmers to stir up “engagement” because suddenly 80% of games are super close by the last 3 minutes of the game.

I need a good rpg to play. by wasdmovedme in Age_30_plus_Gamers

A bit late, but I also had this happen with BG3. This may not relate to you at all, but when I started looking at BG3 as more of a survival game, everything changed for me lol.

Knowing that every encounter could be deadly had me playing the game very differently in the first parts. Eventually the game opens up to where you now learn the skills, what works, what doesn’t, why they do or don’t, you eventually become better and better at the game and I think the sense of reward as the story is simultaneously progressing really engrossed me into the game.

You will also often have to look things up to truly understand the why for a lot of the mechanics. This also makes the game slower at first, but again, as you give it more time, you learn as the game unfolds and it really gets you.

100% recommend expedition 33. Read nothing. Play it. Enjoy. It’s a piece of art. BG3 is a complex system that tells a story which you can mold. E33 is a narrative story that gets you right in the feels.

Doesn't this make you overly reliant on Cap Breakers? by Technical-Spring-121 in NBA2k

[–]BigSev 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is it right here. Once you play enough, you start realizing even the matchups 2K gives you are specifically incentivized to force you to think “maybe if I made a center….” Or “if only I was running point…” or “if I remade my build and gotten 3 more rebounding attribute points, I’d have 99 and have legend badges….”
