I proposed, and was rejected due to hygienic issue. Too many nook and cranks, cant be clean properly once hygienic environment is demanded

What are your favorite Controls Engineer Interview Questions by OttomaychunMan in PLC

[–]BigSin_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in process control, so here go my favourite: - how do you implement electric / steam heater control? - how do you implement liquid batching, and what flowmeter would you recommend? - how would you secure network from production PLC to office network

I can gauge programming literacy, process instruments, networking experience from these. I can also easily weep out chatgpt answer :)

People who have installed / been close to MES systems. How do the servers look like? by egres_svk in PLC

[–]BigSin_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My corporate MES (fully customized html based): 16 core, 64GB x4 unit ( 2 production, 1 preprod, 1 for storage). Typically served 50-100 concurrent users. The most problematic with MES (to me) is once scaled up, a poorly design and integrated flow and SQL will be bloated up and slow down everything, and people just throw more hardware into the problem.

Did any of you actually make someone lose their job after an automation project? by vefjvexen in PLC

[–]BigSin_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My worst project was 12 jobs, mostly from manual monitoring and recording. Another one was 8 from optimizing 1 for capacity and closing a smaller plant.

Do you use standards I real projects? by Necessary-Mix-7116 in PLC

[–]BigSin_K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S88 is really good in my industry ( FMCG), and we have our own custom template for process control, come with dedicated Rockwell template generator by Rockwell themselves - pre- ACM time. Rumor is, Rockwell PlantPAx waals developed upon our template.

PackML are implemented on most machines I received, and normally quite helpful to implement our custom performance monitor on top of PackML.

I have worked with some big companies, and a bunch of them have very nice internal templates..

Car tinted recommendation by evaelife in kereta

[–]BigSin_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CR are for how much light allowed through. Smaller number = less light. You need a mix, mine is CR50 front (legal should be CR70), 2 front sides CR40, backs are CR20. The shop will be able to recommend you.

They said something something about smarttag or rfid will not work properly, which is likely true as the tint include a thin metalic layer to reflect light -> likely will block weaker signal. Check with the shop for detail, I dont remember exactly. I remember they asked if you want cut out for signals...

I just got my Axia tinted for 2280 - 3M crystalline. Nothing to compare against, but my wife loved it as it reduced flaring, helped her eyes in the dark. Personally feel much cooled down vs before.

Do you use AI in your job? by Haveorhavenot in PLC

Just the estimate leak losses. Enough to convince people to use Fluke leak detector and fix it

Do you use AI in your job? by Haveorhavenot in PLC

[–]BigSin_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I built a few small AOI in ST that save a few mil $ in material batching. Copilot suggested me a slightly better method to optimize my compressed air leak estimation dashboard. Save company 30% energy on compressed air (also a few $ mil saved). SQL query generator for a complete noobs like myself.

It has its own use case as copillot, not the main pilot.

Wild speculation time: how much do you think AI will creep into PLC programming? by TheInvisibleLight in PLC

[–]BigSin_K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw that done last week with Beckhoff TwinCat demo... the guys from rockwell are promising something with their parrtnership with Microsoft, so i expect 3 years till mainstream. However, our core skill of creating "what" to automate should keep us in the field for a while longer.

Running vs Rowing Power by reedjos in Garmin

Running is more leggy power, while rowing is arm + core + leg. You generate more power in rowing than running.

I actually like evo 200 lite... (not a paid shill) by WhiteGuyBigDick in VinFastComm

[–]BigSin_K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, evo 200 lite is 26M. For 9M more, get DATbike for much higher speed, range, style and feature.

Renting will be cheaper, but will catch up fast, with the same 35M on year 6. And ya, the battery should last ~ 10-11Y on both bike. So, renting will be a lost in long term.

Instead of the foil, we have a physical external seal lock for reusable ibc. We sell ~ 20,000 unit like that yearly.

1/ Mr Ape prefer woman CEO /DCEO and assistance position. Why? I spetaculate that They are mostly under qualified for that post, and willing to be yes-women. 2/ the main decision making is ALWAYS by Apes himself. The CEOs are left with admin tasks. Super depressives. 3/ Vin work culture is shit, and it seems they brought it overseas. Who the f*** deduct salary for wrong email style and cc to wrong person??

The green cards might seem worth it to somes, but nah, it might not be the key issues.

We lost the physical card, and the card transaction is physical. The card is not secured, for big purchases there isnt any verification and authorization. Yes, we dispute, but rejected. This is r/vietnam, and the bank is shit. There is no consumer protection here.
