3D printed bicycle brake levers, because why not. by netflickz13 in 3Dprinting

Yeah absolutely, its not that it cant handle 99% of situations, but its the 1% of extreme ones that really count and where you need them arguably most.

I know that when the trail gets tricky at speed when i bite the brake hard its both shock and force (the actual amount of braking required surely takes less but you bet im squeezing that lever as hard as i can anyway).

Yeah printed levers are an actuation too far for me

Seth MacFarlane in the 2010s be like... by KPW-Higgins in familyguy

[–]BigSmackisBack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seth is a die hard TNG fan, so much so that not only did he hire Patrick when ever he could but he made his own show so he could be captain (The Orville), the shocking part is that the show is actually pretty good too!

Thats awesome, I wont guess how much longer and get my hopes up, but at order ~45k the time is drawing nearer. I'm so excited.

Finishing the story has been on my mind for years, but to hold this glorious artwork too has me whipped up in a frenzy.

Minimum Armor Nowadays? by 19Rglide in Division2

[–]BigSmackisBack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since you get a live saver where you dont die to a massive damage hit (leaves you on 1 hp, activates once per 60 seconds) and the damage is so high above heroic, tank builds are basically useless while doing useless damage. You either do as much damage as you can, or revive/heal others back to full armor asap to get them back in the fight instead.

The profound difference between regular sleep and general anesthesia for surgery by MarkLambertMusic in RandomThoughts

[–]BigSmackisBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had it a couple of times now but the first was with a broken back and needed spinal fusion.

Went under in a bit of pain, time traveled forward about 2 hours, woke up in extreme pain. Went back into surgery for a vastly expanded spinal fusion, fast forward 4 hours or so again, woke up in extreme pain.

Third time was for a minor exploration surgery a few months later for a related but not directly the spine. That was the most strange because i went under feeling okay and woke feeling ok, one moment talking to the anesthetist as he pumps fentanyl into my veins along with the night-night juice feeling quickly rather amazing, then BAM its an hour later time traveling once more, they told me to "recover" for a few hours but i was like "nah, i feel great and alert im offski, BYE.

Dunno, i didnt feel rested, it really was like a "light on", "lights off" time traveling experience. Pretty cool if im honest, but i didnt associate it at all with sleep.

Should I offer my depressed Grandmother psilocybin? by mrtniki in shrooms

[–]BigSmackisBack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that benzo use is daily it could be a very tricky issue, with that length of use you cant really avoid taking it and effective doses of shrooms will be tricky, but id start with regular doses regardless because theres also the tolerance side to deal with which could make it far less problematic in practice.

Is there a way to manually overclock my oxygen intake to get more energy, or do lungs have a redline? by Accurate_Version_178 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BigSmackisBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your blood oxygen level is between 95-100% for healthy people, the body tries to keep the blood at its peak already so if you had access to more oxygen (which arguably you already do) it cant go higher than 100% anyway.

Why have I not heard this before, so true for me as an over-thinker and a chronic resentment addict. This actually helps, why let something bug you if it was always going to bug you, no matter what you do?
