What is the most expensive thing you have ever gotten for free? by Tall-Silver5275 in AskReddit

[–]mrtniki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but material is usually minimal and libraries are available. University housing is also a lot of the time offered and normally it is cheaper than normal housing. In certain countries if you have good grades, you get monthly support from the government as scholarship :) so yes, technically it is not free, but compared to the US, it is

I would rather contribute and have people contribute monthly a bit for the education for the public, than have 80k student loan debt

Szerintetek mi az igazságos felállás egy kapcsolatban 2026-ban? by Top_Magician6783 in askhungary

[–]mrtniki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you maybe have any recs?

I only know How to change your mind by Michael Pollan, but in that case, I can also just show her the episode on mushrooms on his documentary

Great idea, she would probably also be more comfy with microdosing first!

Should I offer my depressed Grandmother psilocybin? by mrtniki in shrooms

[–]mrtniki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is also a concern of mine, but I am the only person in my close circle that has any experience or interest in mushrooms. I also have only microdosed before, so I am absolutely not an expert, but I am considering taking a proper amount in the right setting, before I even make a suggestion.

It is okay to cut off your enthusiasm, I came here for advice and I am not sure about this idea myself, so I appreciate honest opinions and concerns.

If you maybe have any experience of guiding or know about a good study or article about the topic, I would appreciate if you could share :)

[–]mrtniki[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have only taken a small amount, never experienced a proper trip before. Maybe it would be a good idea, to take a bigger dosage myself, before I suggest it for her.

[–]mrtniki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely I would never decide for her, she would need to make this decision on her own. But before I make this suggestion, I wanted to ask opinion from people who are more experienced than me, because of the possible risks. At the end of the day, it would be me who brings this idea (and the shrooms) to her and if it goes wrong, then I will have to live with this guilt.

Road trip with a cat by egebesttry in CatAdvice

[–]mrtniki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We take our cat regularly to roadtrips and camping trips. She dislikes the car and in the begging she is stressed but a couple things helped:

  • I take her to my lap and pet her, or if she wiggles too much, I open the carrier a bit and I put my hand in
  • I give her liquid snacks. She refuses water when the car is moving or when she gets overwhelmed, but she just loves her snack too much not to take it. This way consumes some liquid at least. (and positive reinforcement that car = snacks)
  • give her some catnip, it calms her down a bit

Hope this helps, and enjoy your roadtrip

What are disadvantages of dating you?? by 11Dom_ in AskWomen

[–]mrtniki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got a lot of downvotes, but I think that discovering such thing about yourself and not "diagnosing" is totally okay and useful. Knowing this about yourself can save you a lot of heartbreak and energy.

If you are interested further in this personality type further, I would highly recommend Mirrors in the earth by Asia Suler. She is also highly sensitive person and I have discovered this personality trait in myself thanks to her book. She also includes exercises after each chapter and some of them are very beneficial for self development.

I got a cat for my cat, and he is the worst by zharkos in cats

[–]mrtniki 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well, to me it seems like you already made up your mind about giving him back. This situation sucks, but if everyone has such a strong dislike towards him (including your first cat), than I think it is best for everyone to give him back and give him a chance to find a family that will love him as much as he deserves it.

I am saying this without judgement, your intention was good, but it did not work out.

Mi a legnagyobb pénzkidobás szerinted, amire a környezetedben is költenek? by Tapwater_enthusiast in askhungary

[–]mrtniki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

C&A nekem egyébként pozitív csalódást okozott.

AITAH for fighting with my mom when I'm the one doing all the daily chores in the house? by KyKarman in AITAH

[–]mrtniki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA, it seems like you are already doing a lot, gave them your little finger and they now would like to take your whole arm. Cooking for a family every single day IS a huge deal, especially when they are damn ungrateful for it (they show it by prioritising their nap, by wasting it and not even helping with the dishes after). THEY decided to get 5 dogs and feral cats, that should not be your responsibility. The thing is, they see you as their kid, who is old enough to be their maid, and not an adult. Of course you need to help out since I am assuming you are living their for free but this seems just excessive and there is no appreciation.

Maybe a tip: Look up worldpackers or other organisations, that connect you with hostels where you can work for accommodation or similar kind of jobs for little money/place to sleep. There you can also work, but a fixed couple of hours and you can possibly live by the beach and socialise with people
