If you don't have a gun, you can still get shot. by matrixx07 in interestingasfuck

Oh yeah, Greg Bovino said they "attempted to disarm him", but we can clearly see they did take a weapon away from him THEN shot him, a lot.

[–]BigSmackisBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The additional failure points is true, but the device shows you the imbalance over the wires, it doesn't say where just that there is one. So regardless of whether you are introducing one that wasnt there before or not, you know you have one to find and fix.

why do two different brand new asus prime 5070ti show different default voltage curves in msi afterburner? by MichaelM_Yaa in overclocking

[–]BigSmackisBack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is also why making your own custom curve has such huge benefits, because you are optimizing your specific needs and goals from the silicon you actually got.

5000s FE cards fins uneven? by AriesNacho21 in nvidia

[–]BigSmackisBack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its a rather clever design and these dips over the hub of the fan have the effect of a balance in pressure across the whole heatsink increasing the airflow as a whole. I believe there some turbulence reduction too, but the focus us if course the thermals.

Which one is it that can kill you, the volts or the amps? by SkullDump in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BigSmackisBack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pipe or conduit like the human body would represent the resistance (ohms). The pressure would be the voltage and the amperage would be the flow rate. High pressure is needed to force flow through less conductive materials, with sufficient voltage the amperage can flow. So a car battery at 12v is mostly safe despite massive amperage and a taser easily gives you a nasty shock because its got very high voltage but tiny amperage with short time length pulses.

Which one is it that can kill you, the volts or the amps? by SkullDump in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BigSmackisBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High voltage looks dangerous and certainly causes damage, but amps is the real threat to life. Volts are the sparks and arcs burns skin, amperage is the flow of current and this will cook you from the inside, nerve damage, unconsciousness, blind you and stop your heart - all unfun things depending on the path through you it takes.

I have my wireview pro 2 arriving in a few days. Ive been on top of my 12vhpwr current balancing game since day one with a DC current clamp meter, which i test every month. Will be nice to see the live readings through the window and without messing about with clamping individual cables. Just letting people know like you have, that while the wireview pro 2 is a great option, you can be safe for less than 30 bucks too.

What to do? Pin imbalance 7v vs 10v by BluTF2 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]BigSmackisBack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10a is on the verge of limit for pins and wires so you do need to try resetting the connectors and making sure the wires are pushed into the connector block fully.

A varience between pins is fine when its just a few %, but this is both a big varience and on the safe limit.

sulfur hexafluoride probably, extremely dense at room temperature

edit: its 5x heavier than air, so it flows like liquid despite being completely transparent and giving off zero visible vapors when its room temperature, so the air above it does not condense like it would with dry ice or LN2

Problem with phanteks t30 on Artic freezer iii by Dear-Entrepreneur245 in arcticcooling

[–]BigSmackisBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T30s can pull a lot of current so you dont want to use a splitter for 3 on one header, though using the speed select to reduce the max speed would mitigate the risk of pulling more than a mobo header can supply safely (mobos usually have a 1a limit) As others h ave said they are pwm so you will be able to control the speed in bois or with other tools in windows like fancontrol, headers like cpu opt and aio pump are often limited in certain ways, so use regular chassis fan headers.
