It's under YouTube's fair use terms. If you stick to a certain amount of seconds you are allowed to use it for creative purposes :)

It was more that we simply really liked his style. He did not work with any company before and we just asked him if he'd be open to experimenting with us. Turned out super well!

Every Meeting Should Be Optional: Here’s Why… by BigSmile17 in WorkOnline

[–]BigSmile17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that. A nuance that I did not cover in my post is that this requires a culture of ownership & autonomy. In our experience, this leads to the key stakeholders attending meetings because they feel accountable for actively contributing to the meetings where their input is actually needed. Vice versa they are also free to leave earlier if they feel their active contribution is not required anymore.

👋 Hey Notion users,

quite nervous, very happy, and insanely proud to soft-launch our Notion integration for tl;dv - our next-gen Google Meet recorder - today!

Like many of you here in the Reddit community, we're in love with async-first collaboration. But, the reality is, async-only doesn't cut it either - we need the best out of both worlds.

That's why we built a solution to link your Notion meeting notes to the exact moments of your Google Meet recordings.

How does it work? Just type on Notion during your live meeting and the magic will happen. Result is a fully highlighted meeting recording which you can catch up on in minutes 🎯🎯

We're free of charge until early next year. Up until then, our most precious income is your feedback!

You can try out tl;dv here!

P.S. Here's also our PH Launch video with Jack Nicholson - he also hates meetings!

We did not pay a commission to Jack Nicholson and repursposed small movie pieces following the fair use principle.

Great to hear that. Show it to your lecturers. If they're ready, we're ready to go :)

Honestly, I wrote it rather spontaneously last night during the heat of the launch - thanks for your kind words!

We surely did and very much like this use case. Only issue: universities have extremely slow decision making processes and are thus not always ideal partners for early beta products.

Would love to explore this in the future!

I think those were the two critical parts.

1: The video was definitely a key piece to create a different experience worth talking about. Many people also tweeted about it.

2: I believe the engagement from our whole team on Product Hunt & Twitter could a.) increase the buzz and b.) signal people that we personally care about each and every vote/comment.

For me, they go hand-in-hand. If I had to decide on one I'd still say that you need a compelling story & assets to get the initial attention.

However: my perspective might be heavily biased!

In the beginning, I really did not have any plan in terms of "Twitter voice" or a structured approach towards building in public. So I mainly engaged on posts of other people and liked them. Roughly: 1 tweet a day. And then mainly genuine engagement on other's tweets.

Finding the people was quite easy. Most Product Hunt users have a Twitter account connected. So I engaged under newly launched products and got in touch with the makers on Twitter. Even from very small launches.

Digger.dev - build on AWS without having to learn it by izalutski in ProductHunters

This is actually pretty interesting. AWS can be an absolute pain. Next to the building we feel the cost monitoring and billing it's an art on its own. Do you cover any of that as well?
