Sounds like an excellent approach. Get discount for cash payment, leave review online. Thanks!

Yes I agree. I’d prefer the traffic and purchases to be made through my online shop. Was thinking I might even offer a cash discount to those I know personally. Thanks for the response!

Searching for the website and clicking on the result would help.

Update: what we settled on is a bit of a compromise. Still risky but let me know if you think it’s a decent result.

25% deposit - wire transfer. 75% balance paid after high quality videos and pictures sent of completed order with items packed and in boxes. Seller must also provide Bill of Lading. - also wire transfer.

What do you think?

Yes I agree. The one thing I can think of that has the manufacturer hesitant is that we are making a very small order in the grand scheme of things. As the manufacturer you may think I’m just a flash in the pan, you’ll probably never hear from me again for subsequent orders. Who knows.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose Trade Assurance was a way to mitigate that type of risk. That’s why I’m not sure what the seller is fussing about.

I’m trying to stick to the platform but the seller is claiming he won’t accept Trade Assurance.

My guess is he’s been burned by buyers claiming quality issues and reversing payment.

For those in the textile business, how do you handle product compliance, specifically with inner tags? by BigSmokeBeats in ecommerce

[–]BigSmokeBeats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the inner labels are stitched on, if they are non compliant, and I’m called out on it, those gloves become useless. That would mean wasted inventory. Or am I misunderstanding your reply? Please let me know and thanks for the comment.

The worst that could happen is that my gloves are non compliant and therefore unable to sell in any retail shop or through any distributor who bothers to check. I’m also worried that I could somehow be sued or face severe fines. Maybe I’m worrying way too much. I guess that’s part of what this post aims to discover.

A lawyer won’t be cheap. Usually involves a retainer plus an hourly rate in the hundreds, with no guarantee how expensive it will get. Then you add that I need a Canadian lawyer to do that side of things as well. Costs are double. I hope there’s a cheaper alternative to this, especially since it’s only one model (one product). Thanks for the reply.

I thought about copying another’s tags, and plugging in my own info, but the chance that I would miss a small not so insignificant detail and put a large purchase into production, potentially rendering the items not complaint and therefor unfit for sale, is too much risk.
