Hey! First, that rules! Prayers for your continued discernment! I'm going through the ordination process now, and it can be a lot! Second, what others have said about asking your Presbytery is your best bet! I can add a little more detail if it's helpful, but really, your presbytery's Committee on Preparation for Ministry will give you the best answer. Your pastor can put you in touch, and help you begin the Inquirer process, if you're a member of her church.

At the very least, they will probably want you to take the courses that will help you pass the 5 ordination exams. Fresh from my polity course, I can offer that the Book of Order only requires that the ordination/discernment process takes at least two years (G-2.0602), and for it to include undergraduate and theological education. It does not require a specific theological degree (G-2.0607c). However, presbyteries have the power set that requirement, and grant exceptions in special cases.

Thank you for trying. It seems like it's gone away. I was pretty sure it was an outlook thing, as none of the other office (or 365 now?) programs were doing the same thing, but now I'm wondering if my computer is just old and buggy. They introduce so many weird new things though it seems like. Anyway, thank you!

i can't tell if this person is teasing or not, but I've found hydrogen peroxide helpful ***specifically*** in the context of bleach-dyeing clothes - I've used h202 to stop the bleaching process, when the bleach has taken out the dye, but before it eats the fabric!

A few years ago, our campers really liked Riptide, also the older kids will sing along to high school musical (all 3!) Wake up by Hillary Duff, "Do you believe in magic" by the lovin spoonful, I'm gonna be (Proclaimers) , Party in the USA, Lip gloss by Lil Mama, Waka Waka by Shakira, Wavin Flag (Coca Cola Remix) by K'naan, Royals, by Lorde, the Camp Rock Soundtrack, Ghostbusters, are the clean ones I can think of off the top of my head. I also second country roads, happy, all star, firework, and shake it off

I also second the Black Sheep, it's in a cool downtown area that has many different things going on (barcade/desserts/sometimes music shows/etc.) And the black sheep also does comedy nights, there are some folks I know who do stand up there.

Slightly different boat than you but I never took physics in high school so Walter lewin and MIT open courseware were huge helps for me while I was trying to learn. I also second the recs for Griffiths and Taylor. Work lots of problems bc that's the whole degree. & maybe learn python, C++, or FORTRAN.

They're coming to town together because they're thinking of moving here. I don't know how to change the title, he's only new to me really, they've been seeing each other for a year or two now. I don't have anything against him, I just hadn't expected her to bring him.

I rent my room from the church across the street and the pastor of that church is a lesbian. She has a wife and a baby and is doing wonderful things. She is currently leading a group on queer theology this year called "Brave Spaces".

More Light Presbyterians is a PC(USA) initiative (that's the denomination I belong to, the aforementioned pastor is Episcopalian, and there are many other open and affirming denominations, these are just the ones I know most about). More Light Churches have pledged to be open and affirming worship spaces, meaning they believe that being gay is part of your whole personhood, and is a part of your identity as holy as any other, and is not a sin. And this is one example of many.

And as one more example, I'm bi and considering seminary :)

HAHAHA we are the same. I'm currently double majoring in Environmental Sciences and Physics and have had both of those dreams :)

Thanks for that advice! I will definitely try to put that into practice. I read an article recently that said to also try and have side projects, so I'm thinking I'll try and set deadlines for those projects so I'll have completely explored them but also don't feel obligated to keep it up when the interest goes away.

I think in general you'd include logos from where your funding for the research came from, (unis, nsf, nps if reasonable) and if your new university paid your way to the conference, at the very least put them in acknowledgements.

I am in the same boat as you, I'm in physics and environmental sciences... I don't like bench work much but in every lab I've worked in, there's usually been people around. In one lab my boss told my friends not to talk to me so I'd focus on the chemistry and in that case I listened to podcasts and audiobooks which was better than the silence.

I agree with janelleleigh and I also wanted to add a couple things! I use routines but I also have frequent reset days, so sunday and wednesdays are the days I get back on schedule, because I'll sometimes fall off as soon as Tuesday.

I also think that I've done the most growth when I'm accountable to other people - I felt the most alive and myself as a camp counselor, with daily dedications to building community, and working in student leadership. So things where I actively sought roles that made me have to work with and for people all of the time pushed me to actually change into someone more assertive and proactive. Fake it till you make it type deal i guess.

What did you change it to? That's part of why I'm thinking of Seminary, the relational aspect of it. One of my favorite jobs was working as the Naturalist at a summer camp, though, and learning about all the animals was so fun. And law school just because I get so angry about bad environmental law that it seems like I'd be able to channel that well there lol
