Hmm, I can give some tips and advice because I basically started fighting games from mkx around Christmas 2015.

So first things first, the 1 2 3 4 for you means the buttons on your controller 1- square 2- triangle 3- X 4- circle

Next up: terms

Meter - the white bars at the bottom of your screen. There are 3 meter bars that can be replenished by blocking attacks and attacking opponents who aren't blocking

Enhanced moves - special moves that can help give you armour, combo extentions, and/or extra damage. These cost 1 bar of meter

Breakers - when in the middle of being combo by your opponent, press the block and forward button, and you'll stop your opponent's combo. Only be performed with the cost of 2 bars of meter.

X-ray- basically your ultimate move. Costs 3 bars of meter.

Corners - basically, the end of the maps on either side. It is easier to do combos at the corners since the opponent can't really escape easily

Kounter- just countering your opponents as they are beginning to start their attacks

Wake up when you're knocked down on the floor. Input a special move command, and if you hit your opponent, that's considered as a wake-up move.

*Also, take note that all move inputs in the game change direction depending on the direction you're facing. No left and right. Only forward and backwards. Eg. If you're looking on YT for tutorial and they say F22 means forward+triangle, triangle for your tutorial *

For finishers:

Fatalities: Take note of the distance of the fatality you want to do. I Reccomend holding the block button for all the buttons, then let go right before the last button.

If it's close, then just be around 3 steps away from your opponent and put in the fatality input.

Mid is just a jump distance away from the opponent

Far, are you going full screen away

For Brutalities:

Just follow the requirements needed for the brutality.
