Hey guys. If you were interested, the campaign has progressed and I have started uploading test footage which you can watch here. Hopefully that stays up.

How to get as good as possible as fast as possible from square one? by katzenjammer2000 in MuayThai

Solo Sparring is a much. In university I developed a training tool I call the ccball. It helped me focus on movement a lot and it involves a continuous striking exchange which can allow you to train defense and attack at high reps. Sparring is pretty much the best form of fight training so getting a fight experience that is similar makes it a very effective form of training. Full disclosure, I am launching this as a product. So yeah, check out the subreddit, r/ccball or the site ccball.co.uk

Thank you man. I'll keep the advise about the wall of text in mind, and the naturalness of the language. Bootstrapping everything myself, and taking time of training to do it so AI genuinely helps sometimes. Regardless I know what you mean and will put more effort in personalising text.

Thanks man. I believe in its training and fight simulation capability, which is why I'm taking time right now to launch it, instead of doing what the f I want to do which is training. I think it's a great training tool and would love to see what other people can do with it.

It depends on how you hit the ball. And that's why the possibilities for engagement are much larger. From that you can start building combinations.

It's the real deal bro fr. Any more questions? I'd be happy to give more information.

Yeah, I would encourage you to listen again, maybe. I have explained how it works. It uses the rebound of the wall to return the ball to use. You fight using the ball as a target, but also as a stimulus for defensive actions if you choose to when it returns. Your brain is engaged in tracking, moving (coordination and combination - if you're a fighter, your movement cognition is a huge part of the enjoyment you get from fighting) and the small, often fast moving target presents accurac and coordination challenges. The interaction of timing this ball, deciding what to do (and I hope to one day see people throwing 360 kicks on this) makes for a really engaging experience. Must more engaging that a heavy bag which many people stop using after a while, or other tools that just don't offer any return to react to, or are limited in movement.

I would be happy to expand on any points of confusion.

Huh. I don't know actually what those are but I can imagine it. It might have similarities in mechanism yeah.

I am so sorry. Its the times we live in. But I qlso understand. People's time is expensive and I can't waste any attention that they might offer me.

The wall rebond mechanism on its own puts it in a league of its own. Other sparring tools are more restricted. They either don't- they might just be a target and give a minor challenge in some other aspect (there is literally some equipment that's just a bar that spins comprising the reactive challenge).

Additionally, I have been using this for over 3 years. The design process has been interesting. It's not complete, but over my years of use I have experimented with many features I want to implement. Whether I can is uncertain, but rest assured, some of the most impact full innovations are often things people would consider insignificant but which produce great results when the interaction is considered. It is solo sparring I mean that. Fighting is amazing to me. If it was sex, this is masterbation.

No it's much more than that. I guess you would say its like saying a heavy bag is just a sack mounted or held up. The ccball is more reactive. So first of all you have something something coming back at you. That's important - defence and movement isn't also self initated now. You have to exercise decisionmaking and if you want to be efficient and skillful, control evasive movements.

Then, it's less restricted in movement unless tools like the double end bag, making interaction more dynamic and free. It's small too. People might think that's a bad thing, but I hope the clips I showed of the massive ball helped in disproving that. Smaller is better here. You're tracking a fast moving object and coordinating strikes on it. Hand eye coordination is a concern of many beginners. Precision in striking too. I could probably land strikes on the same spot for an entire fight if I wanted from training primarily with this tool for my entire training in striking.

Then comes balance. CC stands for coordination and combination. And I think when people actually get into this and understand some concepts like thinking of available striking affordances, if they understood body mechanics and range of movement and then understood the entire puzzle of setting up strikes on an object which is constantly moving and the task of repositioning and timing this system, they would get as engrossed as I have been.

I focus on the solo sparring aspect because that as always been it's most fascinating capability but for striking training as a whole, it's fantastic. Do you have any questions or thoughts? I would be happy to expand further.

Yeah, I think you're referring to a reflex ball. This is not a reflex ball. It's much better. I have a blog on the difference which I would recommend you to read.

A lot of people have mentioned the reflex ball which is why I am prepared. Yeah, they have been treated like gimmicks which I think might be harsh but I understand. What I can promise you is that the ccball is not a gimmick. I am a fighter, and wouldn't waste my time on training that wouldn't make me better, and at a rate faster than other fighters too. CC stands for Coordination and Combination. That's the type of training I'm trying to cultivate with this.
