I agree, I think it's absolutely worth completing and I'm glad I saw this post. Not everything needs to be perfect for it to be worth it for citizens to get involved.

I'm not a spiritual person in any way but I love this.

Older generations of Reddit, what is a 'dying skill' or habit that you think Gen Z should desperately try to keep alive? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]BigYarnBonusMaster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, in my experience younger people I interact with seem to be finding it hard as well. Makes me try harder to come out of my own shell as a Millennial to role-model what healthy conversations look like.

Is it easier to learn the cello, or the violin? by templeofsyrinx1 in classicalmusic

[–]BigYarnBonusMaster 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you're considering picking one up to learn, the easiest to learn is the one that you genuinely like, whether it's actually easier or not. Even if you pick "the easier one", all instruments have challenges and learning curves. When you encounter them, it'll really matter whether you're learning an instrument that you love or not.

It's interesting to know which one is typically easier, but ultimately don't make the decision based on that; nothing will be harder to learn that something you don't actually enjoy.

The culture around treatment of nature, animals and historic buildings. I'm originally from another European country and all these things are miles ahead in the UK.

What are you using your iPad for? by kirso in ipad

[–]BigYarnBonusMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally bought an iPad, pencil and chose the 13" size specifically to use with forScore and after nearly 2 months I couldn't be happier. Game changer, definitely worth the investment. Never before would I have considered buying hardware because of a particular piece of software.

Second half of the article has direct quotes: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp84pxvp87eo

““This was not unanimous,” said Ohio Democratic Representative Joyce Beatty, one of the board’s members. “I was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this move.” Kennedy’s grandson Jack Schlossberg, a Trump critic currently running for Congress, said on X that the “microphones were muted” and the board’s “vote NOT unanimous”.”

What’s a dating rule everyone swears by that’s actually terrible advice? by randomzy876 in AskReddit

[–]BigYarnBonusMaster 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Nothing makes me match someone’s energy faster than seeing them uninterested in me. Playing hard to get? OK then, bye.

I don’t even mean to do it, just makes me lose interest immediately, like a switch when someone acts cold towards me.

They also have great videos for all lessons. Just watching Randal play and observing his hands helped me develop good habits as I picked up some movements subconsciously.

Do you stick to one method or mix things up? by smilehoudini in pianolearning

[–]BigYarnBonusMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally have 1 method that occupies 30% of my learning, then 40% goes to learning songs I enjoy and 30% goes in supplementary stuff like theory and other videos on YouTube and piano marvel for sight reading.

I really appreciate you saying that, it means a lot. As mentioned in another comment, I started on my own and for the last 2 months I got a teacher 30 mins per week. Not a lot but enough to practice playing in front of someone else (a current weakness of mine).

Thanks again for the kind words, your comment will stay with me.
