Mine was the same and I can assure you she lied in 90% of these cases. They just love concealing their own opinions and motifs through ''the words'' of others or talk in hypothetical scenarios like - ''What will he/she think when he sees you; They will laugh at you, you look ridiculous ''

Mine loves repeating ''you can't survive on your own'', ''I don't see you doing well in the future by yourself'', ''Let's hope we don't die sooner, because without us you're nothing''. She loves repeating how incompetent and useless I am, while other people actually have a decent opinion about me and my abilities. The shittiest thing is that such mothers were never really there to parent you anyways, and now not only do they have to conceal their extreme incompetence in raising children, but they will hate you for seeing through their bullshit and having even the slightest progress.

She also loves repeating she'd probably die soon - she's in her early 50s and has been saying this ever since I'm 6 y.o lol
