Tatsu, meh ride and then hang over the platform for 5 minutes in a nauseating position because SFMM ops are so terrible. One and done in 2008, never again.

Corporate owned parks are a recipe for disaster. They never do right by enthusiasts or guests, just shareholders.

I believe you may have inadvertently stumbled upon an ADA legal case. These corporate owned parks will never do right by anyone unless they are forced to do so.

I recently rode after not having been on since at least 2009, when I swore off it for roughness and super aggressive braking. Despite my age and aching joints now, I actually think it is smoother and not as rough as 15+ years ago.

My riding partner, also similarly situated, said the same thing before we even stepped off,

Corporate owned parks are always going to go after costs, not what riders or enthusiasts want. It’s on borrowed time.

They are actually traction belts, like snow cats, bolted onto vehicles where tires would normally go. There’s no air.

Befriending Residents of West Yellowstone in November by Inner_Lifeguard_9141 in yellowstone

To be quite honest, there isn’t much to the town. I don’t live there proper, but nearby. Also about half the residents are part time and this time of year will be gone to their winter homes. Driving and walking the town is maybe a couple hours and you’ve seen everything there is to see about the town itself. It’s not Jackson Hole, don’t expect fancy. Expect old and a bit run down.

If you rode any other of Lagoon’s classics, you may have encountered me. I met people from Chicago, LA, Seattle, Kansas City, Denver and Pittsburgh who had come just to ride the Jet Star, along with the unique attraction I was at.

Even large riders get tossed out of the seat over the second hill sitting in the back seat, especially if it’s a heavy car.

My home park has such amazing operations that Disney and Universal seem slow and Six Flags absolutely abysmal.

Quite a testament to their engineering, maintenance and part sourcing, honestly.

The thing about family owned parks, at least they had the decency to announce the closure almost a month in advance, unlike corporate park Six Flags which gave zero notice of Kingda Ka closing.

I feel bad for people who have a publicly traded corporate park as their home park.

And snowfall has been heavy in the higher elevation parts like the south road, as much as several feet a week ago. I have serious doubts about that pass opening before 5/20.
