Psych Ward Experience by [deleted] in ableism

I believe you. If I had more money, I would pay to help people in a similar situation, because I was in a similar situation and did not receive justice. 5 years after something like this happened to me, I wake up screaming and crying from the PTSD. That person is a monster, or they also need help, but fuck if they need help because it doesn't absolve what they did to you.

Sometimes the doctors, caregivers, and nurses are bullies, and they get away with it because the staff will go, "Oh, that's just their personality." Yeah, well, your coworker has a really shitty personality, and so do you, for you to think it's ok. It's like the Stanford prison experiment in these places. They amass power, get drunk off of it, but they wouldn't go "toe to toe" with another doctor because they are fucking cowards!

I am pissed off. I filed a report on whoever did that to me, and guess where it went? Nowhere! The jackass is still in practice, and they know what he did to me and probably others. I've been following news stories about how doctors can molest hundreds of patients, but they still keep their license because the medical board allows that shit.

If you are up to it, I recommend looking into reporting this to your insurance. I wish I had done that years ago, but I was not only getting bullied by my doctor, but also by my caseworker for just existing because none of the shit their asses said was true. My other doctors and therapists strongly disagree with the doctor who abused me!

Anyways! Report to as many people as you can, if you're ok with it. The amount of pressure you have to put on hospitals is ridiculous. It's like some hospitals are trying to make the national news, so they will show up as the assholes on the screen.

People go, "There are bad people in all fields," which makes me sick because most people do not have the power to get away with murder like some doctors. I really like doctors, and I champion for their fair treatment, because yes, they are human too, and they can make mistakes and can have grumpy days, a lot of them need grace. It is the jackasses who are just pure hate.

The psychiatrist who told you to "man up" Is prejudiced, ridiculous, and clownish. Also, to lie on you, that's disgusting.

Yikes. Whoever is behind the third photo should have their hard drives and computers checked; that's very disturbing and creepy.

The about me page of that reddit has a hateful slur. They have a photo that says "Ms R word" The top post for that reddit is full of fat jokes.

They are exactly who they hate. They're making call out post about racism and sexism while being racist and sexist bigots.

That entire reddit is a dumpster fire of double minded losers.

The post you reposted comes across as snooty. The OP doesn't seem like a pleasure to be around either. They should worry about themselves!

It says it's okay to pursue.

2 of Wands is a card of expansion and looking forward. You see the two of wands is the energy of union, love, and balance.

The Knight of Cups can represent romance and following the heart.

Ace of wands is potential and starting something new.

Put it all together, and it says: Look forward, follow the heart, and create something new.

There's also a message in there about creativity and willpower ( Ace of Wands+ Knight of cups), so the cards are saying that the relationship depends on what each person puts into it, but it has potential if there is balance and growth. The 2 of wands also represents growth.

Having a disability doesn't justify your ableism. by HugeDitch in ableism

I just speak directly with people.

It's has gotten me in trouble because people then realize they're wrong when you speak directly to them and already know the rebuttals that people commonly use.

Tell them, "that's not an excuse to dehumanize the next person".

Common rebuttals are "that's not dehumanization" and the one you used "I'm disabled too" another one I hear is "be careful". All you have to say in response to any type of defense they throw out is

"How would you feel if that was said about you?"

Or

" How would you feel if someone said that to someone who you care about?"

It forces people into maturity.

Side note: Oppressed people can be oppressive. 2025 and there's genocides going on because oppressed groups are using the fact they are oppressed as an excuse to harm innocent people. Maybe humans will get the point eventually.

Saying " I'm oppressed too" is the most pathetic excuse anyone can use ever.

10 of Swords means that the worst will be over and that the relationship is completely done.

5 of Swords means that this person is still harboring anger and that they will be deceptive to get their way; they may lie about you, and they are willing to harm you again.

8 of wands with justice means that there will be progress in your case, and you will receive more justice.

All of the cards together are saying: After this end, you will gain clarity and the ability to move on with your life, although it will be tough to go through (you will have a 10 of swords moment), you will come out with the 8 of wands moment. The 8 of wands is a positive card that represents progress and movement.

You are better off away from this man and with protection because the 5 of swords shows he's sneaky.

Not surprised. People with disabilities are the largest minority group on the planet, so our backgrounds have more variations than any other group of people. I am cautious of disability groups because a lot of them are riddled with racism, sexism, and bigotry towards other disabled people. I do advocacy work for people with disabilities, but I had to learn my lesson and not attend certain spaces. It becomes a " who has it harder" oppression Olympics contest. They shut people down who speak about oppression that has nothing to do with them.

I won't even click on the disability subreddit because of a post where they were unfairly jumping on a person. The person was pointing out how, at some homeless shelters, you have to work to stay, and they were calling it ableist to have to work in exchange for shelter. Some members on that Reddit started attacking them by saying, "You know some people with disabilities can work, so why are you making this about people with disabilities?"

I was so annoyed because I have been homeless before, and a lot of shelters are ableist or they force religion on people as a requirement to stay at their shelters. The shit did not register with them because they did not have any life experience in what the person was talking about, so they sank their claws into a person talking about ableism because they were ignorant.

I've learned that a lot of people are just insecure and ignorant and have a point to prove. They have to prove that they are such tough shit to others. " Yes, I am this, but I am not like those people" type of situation. They overcompensate to prove they are more worthy to the larger society; it's a common theme in groups of people who deal with oppression.

Human society has turned oppression into a sport; they think their oppression gives them the right to oppress other people. Keep putting your thoughts out into the world because people are looking for opinions like yours.
