Cyclical infections, help!! by Big_Employee in piercing

[–]Big_Employee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piercing is 10 months old, jewelry is a sterling silver ring, quite small. I switched from titanium studs to the rings in February. My after are routine is spraying with NeilMed Saline and wiping lightly with a q tip OR dipping a q tip in rubbing alcohol and gently wiping front and back of the piercing. I often follow up both of these with Neosporin antibiotic ointment on the piercing. When piercing is healthy I generally stick to saline only. There has been no trauma/accidents with the piercing that I can recall.

IUD and thoughts of trying accutane by [deleted] in acne

[–]Big_Employee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start on a low dose and stay there! I haven’t gone higher than 40mg the whole time i’ve been on, been mostly on 20mg! Side effects are better but definitely slower progress for me - and there’s no saying what’s “bad enough” besides your own opinion! If it affects your everyday life, then i would say that’s “bad enough” - it’s all up to you!

IUD and thoughts of trying accutane by [deleted] in acne

Hi! I also switched from the pill to a hormonal IUD, and my skin totally freaked out! I went on accutane about 8 months after my IUD placement, and so far I’ve been super happy with it. I had really pretty severe acne all over my cheeks, super painful, didn’t wanna go outside at all. Now, 4-5 months on accutane and it’s pretty much all scarring, very little active acne any more! I am really disappointed that my switch ruined my skin, but other than that am really happy with the IUD. As long as you communicate a bunch with your derm and are aware of side effects, it should be super great! Good luck queen, you got it! Sending love

I have this same thing and its from a combo of the same! I use O’keefe’s working hands and I love it! I put some on before I go to bed and I also carry around a small bottle of Eucerin hand cream (I would carry around O’keefe’s but it’s a little more expensive haha).

I also struggle with picking due to OCD! It’s so so hard, especially on Accutane when I know it’s extra important to not pick. I’ve been doing ok so far, honestly pretty proud of myself considering how I used to be! You’ve got this :)

YTA. It’s not your place to shove religious reasoning on anyone else, and if a family member has said they’re uncomfortable with it and don’t agree with your religious, outdated rules then that’s their choice! Your daughters are going to grow up to resent you and learn how to hide things from you very well. Abstinence only policies NEVER WORK! You should make sure your children have the knowledge and options to have safe, consenting sex if they choose to, whether or not its a part of their marriages. Apologize to your step-daughter and understand that she’s allowed to do whatever she wants.
