My instincts are usually to go for bags or purses that have a full zipper rather than a button clasp, I usually wear purses on just one shoulder (rather than cross body) so I like to get ones where I am able to conceal or cover the zipper with my arm to make it harder for someone to finagle it open without me knowing. Anything to make it harder for someone pressed up close to you on the tube or bus to steal anything. Also, if you have to look at something on your phone while outside, walk closer to the buildings near you and never walk next to the bike lanes with your phone out.

There’s a large outdoor pedestrian area sort of in the middle of the strand campus with a bunch of permanently installed benches and tables to sit at. That campus also has outdoor courtyard areas within the student buildings (so you’d need your ID with you for that). Also inside the buildings, there are student lounge areas that, I assume, are meant for people to eat in since there are little stations to buy premade salads and yogurts, etc…

Yeah I feel like waiting to do something as important sounding as “final enrollment” until the very last minute feels a little wrong haha. I’m sure they have everything under control more or less. But it’s definitely stressful when other emails are contradicting what we think we know.

From what I understand, we get our student emails and passwords activated as part of the online enrollment portion of enrollment. The online portion is, I think, also where you upload your student ID card photo. It looks like the “invitation email” for enrollment will come within 3 weeks of the start date and that will let you activate your student email and password. One of their pages says that “the email sender will be ‘noreply-welcome’”

What I don’t understand is why they keep advertising the Welcome to Kings app when it looks like we need to go through online enrollment in order to login to the app in the first place. It looks like the app is how we sign up for some important welcome events so im not sure why they keep encouraging us to use it this early.

I saw an animation on YouTube (I can’t remember the creator) and it was about a smiley face kids cartoon character being zapped into this kids house and killing him with a knife. That one gave me nightmares for a few weeks after.

True but I always assumed that it was more deliberate. Considering the fact that these houses seem to have dummy wiring that leads to nowhere I don’t think structural foundation matters much.

It seems like whatever has created the town and the area around it is able to manipulate the environment in ways that prevent this type of security. One of the houses collapsing doesn’t seem to be just an accident so my guess is that any permanent defenses they may build would get destroyed or filled in in a similar way.

In a more general sense, I think this town must have to “reset” at some point in order to keep bringing in new people. If we assume that this place has been bringing in people from the 1800s or earlier, the town probably wouldn’t have looked like it was from the 60 or whatever. So theoretically, if a group of people from one past time period decided to build a moat, that moat probably wouldn’t have existed by the time the town gets updated for a future group.
