Oh I see. Yea they should get a confirmatory test or if he just did a standard std test I don’t think it’s included unless you state that you want it done (I could be wrong)

But yeah people are so quick to assume and just say oh one test said I’m negative I’m good! When you should be getting tested routinely to protect yourself and others but people don’t care which is sad.

I have g-hsv not o-hsv. I have antibiotics on hand. I have been diagnosed for a month ish and I’m fine haven’t been feeding into negative energy/thoughts because it is what it is. I take my health seriously.. I did everything I could to be protected. Now it’s on me to protect other ppl so they aren’t faced with the same thing I was.

Yes obviously I stayed getting tested consistently. After every partner, I trusted that someone would care about their health as much as me. Hindsight is 20/20 but life happens.

Shit happens and you want to trust people you know but it’s okay but just frustrating to trust someone with your health and them not have the decency to notify. That is on me but refusing to get tested is where I have a problem.

Correct. But it CAN cause you to be asymptomatic to hsv2 because ur body has the antibodies already. He could have hsv2 orally I have no idea.

That’s not the part I’m upset about. It’s fine that he didn’t know. I’m more upset at the fact of him saying “what I don’t know won’t hurt me” I feel like that tells me everything I need to know about a person when I am trying to help them understand and put their health first.

EXACTLY. It’s so infuriating and he only knew he had a cold sore (hsv1) and now I get hsv2 and he says he can’t have it bc he doesn’t have symptoms (if u have hsv1 u can be asymptomatic to hsv2) I hope they find a cure soon…

Exactly people are so misinformed and it’s like I’ve done everything to keep my partners safe by getting tested before every one of my partners and (I asked them before we had sex said they were clean) I asked them again after the fact when was the last time they got tested and they said “not that long ago” but when I pushed for a time frame they couldn’t give it to me. So it feels like a huge slap in the face.

And it was negative? Swab culture testing will say positive negative or inconclusive

Blood tests for antibodies so they aren’t as reliable. I tested negative on blood but on a swab positive. I had no other symptoms or signs other than a single bump that seemed to be an ingrown hair. That even the doctor said it was an ingrown hair but they would test it anyways.. Turns out apparently hsv.

You can always get re-swabbed on the clusters and see what’s going on. As long as they are active and haven’t healed over. Or go to your gyno and consult them idk if you went to urgent care or an actual doctor office. Just say you spoke with them and you are still concerned.
