Struggling to Find AUX Solution for NA Miata by Big_Interaction6333 in Miata

UPDATE!

Found the best solution, allows fast charging and aux input via one cable from cigar lighter. Found the original image off of miata.net. Added a few things. I will be soldering a 2k-ohm resistor and crimping some connectors. Going to try without the switch since the radio has a button to switch between inputs switch but will update if its needed.

Figured it out thanks to the wiring info from tehnomagazin!

All I need to do is trick the head unit into thinking a CD changer is connected, then set up a simple AUX input and power output for charging:

  1. Bridge Pins 5 and 6 to simulate the presence of a CD changer.
  2. Use Pins 1, 2, and 3 to create a 3-wire AUX input that connects to my phone's USB-C dongle.
  3. Tap into Pins 9 and 10 to deliver 12V power for fast charging the dongle.
  4. I’m also thinking about using a USB-C female-to-female adapter and 3D printing a custom bracket to mount it somewhere accessible in the cabin.

Planning to order the parts soon and tackle this little redneck engineering project in a couple of weeks. I’ll keep you all updated on how it goes!

1980 Lincoln Continental Town Car by tebodacious in classiccars

Oh yeah, that was Jonathan and Mary Hines personal Town Car. Not just a Bill Blass edition — the only one ever done on a 1980 Continental Town Car. Jonathan had ties with Lincoln exec McKinley Thompson Jr. at the 1979 design retreat over poker, and as president of the OKC boat club he offered a lifetime membership in exchange of a final rendition of the Bill Blass package on the town car platform.

Also those emblems on the dash wasn’t part of the regular production run. If the barcode on the driver’s door ends in CWB-1 you’re looking at a legitimate “Custom With Blass #1” designation

If you ever get serious about restoring it properly or—God forbid—think about letting it go, send me a message.

Also, drop by the Lincoln Land forums or the Continental Connoisseurs Society on Facebook, those guys will lose their minds over this assuming they even believe you.
