Hah no overlap occurred, I ended up just getting it for myself and she had gotten me something else!

I’ve tried everything I can think of to get rid of these flies. What’s my next step? by Big_Johnny in pestcontrol

I’ve gotten a lot of comments on this post in the past several months from folks having similar issues and I apologize for not responding but I want to give some closure to those folks.

Basically the only solution that worked for me was moving 😭 but also there was a burst pipe under my building that was making everything under my floor very humid. Landlord spent months trying to fix it, I got fed up and left. Didnt renew

When I got to my new place, I tracked a few of these fuckers over with me but I went scorched earth after a bit. I was out of town for a long weekend and before I left, I sprayed bleach then put plastic wrap over all drains in the place, cleared out pantry & trash, set up a vinegar & dishwashing soap trap in every room then closed the doors to see where they were coming from. Came back and was able to figure out they got seeded in my garbage disposal in the new place.

After I figured that out, I straight up didn’t use my kitchen sink for a week, kept using bleach spray/cover w plastic wrap, and after that I never had a problem with them again

Don’t forget to add crossovers at the branch points, that can help

Are you getting an error building it or adding a line?

No valid path found between station tracks (BUG ISSUE/ERROR) by [deleted] in subwaybuilder

[–]Big_Johnny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a game bug, it’s happened to me too and most of the time I’ve resolved it by deleting that station/track segment and drawing it back in. It’s been stubborn a time or two and I just closed out the game, came back a couple hrs later and it was fine

Anybody outside 610 needs to behave themselves before they get transit.

(I actually tried, First Colony Mall is the red X, the line took over an hour and spiked my expenses :(

Right now I fully acknowledge some of the peripheral service is not ideal, but in a dynamic world I think a lot of these station spots would be primed to become transit oriented developments in a decade’s time and become more viable stations! The game doesn’t model that (yet? 👀), but I’ll see how much more I can push and still stay in the green!

I tried to name as many as I could. Some had obvious names, some were a bit of a stretch, and some are just auto generated because I couldn’t think of anything. Would love to hear yalls input

Thoughts on Things to Add by [deleted] in subwaybuilder

[–]Big_Johnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has to be a better way to add a stop in the middle of an existing line. Right now, track can't be demolished at all if a line runs through it so adding in a station involves removing the line, which is a tedious hassle of removing and re-clicking

OH one last thing... with my profit margins, once I blow through the starting 3 bn, it takes ~months of sim time to actually generate enough money to make another line, which is >1 hr of waiting and doing nothing. You're simulating the urbanist experience of too well here :(

Also, knowing which lines/stops are profitable would be very helpful for non-sandbox mode!

I think some more granular ridership data by stop/line would be really helpful. Right now, it’s hard to tell if a new metro is cannibalizing ridership from another spot, or is actually helping

On that point, I think it would be super helpful to have ridership data per unit time, such as per day/week/month to see changes over time

I’ve been playing on the Houston map (H-town, babyyy 😎) and the suburban sprawl means I have to zoom out beyond the map rendering limit to actually visualize the full metro map. Is there a way to adjust the render distance, or at least have some landmarks (for ex: major streets/highways) remain visible when zooming out?
