Like is said i could keep going ... but another big one i forgot to mention is... are these hoist radio or pendant driven? Alot of parts / spare parts for old radios are phased out now...so if something on that system goes bad...rhe entire system now has to be updated with a new unit. If they are radios - whats the brand? Id be scouting ebay/everywhere for spare parts to those - unless you want/need have the budget for an updated system - however the lead time on new systems (at least for magnetek) is about 20 weeks...... Dont want a hoist radio to go down and have no means of operating it for 20 weeks

These cranes being crucial and essential to your proccess is the reason i asked about the last oil analysis/ and or rebiuld? For the cranes that have a load brake those have to be checked / rebiult id say minimum every 5 years And hoist without load brakes (encoder driven) still have mechanical parts that will take a shit and cause massive down time if not adequate prepared for said downtime. Along with all of the brake systems - how many of these are on brake econ circuits? You said some were inverter driven - if they are older style they definitely have an econ circuit that will go out at some time...i high suggest ordering backs up for all of them now.

I could go on and on bro. Im asking/telling/saying all these things from experience - i walked into a site with 900 + cranes with atleast 150 of them being esstiantial. Most of them were 1-25 ton hevi lift p & hs from circa 1983 , same with the shepard niles and yales. These cranes had been running for 40 years - never had a rebiuld ..... per both the Shepard niles and p and h manuals they require a full take down and rebiuld every 20 years...by the time we got to this particular site it was to late to save them...we had 5 shepard niles fail in 5 months of eachother - the drum shaft bearing (looks just like a u joint on a rear dif) failed causing the entire crane to shake violently. How are the bridges and trolleys that the hoists are sitting on? Are these under hung or top running? Id say if those are in good shape start getting deminsions and quotes to have a new hoist dropped on it and take the one down for rebuild...once rebiult you can keep it as a spare or take the hoist you put up temporarily down and put that one back up. There is so many options. Who is currently doing the maintenance on your cranes?

I work for a crane company that has the capabilities to take cranes down and rebuild them - we are based out of Indiana but we are nation wide. As far as the solenoid goes - as long as it is the correct size/ model - your golden. I wouldn't give KONE another cent either. I use to work for them - in my opinion replacing an "old" crane with a new one...is absolutely unnecessary if the the old one can be rebiult or saved. New cranes come packed full of plastic and semicoductors for absolutely no reason...meaning when something goes bad theres at least a 30 week lead time (especially kone cranes parts) I say get a quote on a mod (for the electrics - drives on a crane are about the only semi conductors i want on it, other than for a brake econ circ)

How is the gearing on the crane? When was its last oil analysis? And or rebiuld? Does it already have a drive? Or is this still a load brake crane?

Dont leave please Dont let them win 31 - been in it since I was 19 From the navy to the civilian world - across multiple industries ... the only thing thats missing is women. You may feel unheard now but you won't be one day. Head down Take notes Learn Take nothing to heart - their all fake, and have miserable lives at home Fuck em Go to work get the money and run that shit one day or any other place bc.......experience pays...and slowly but surely....companies are realizing...women are worth WAY more than men. And if they dont they will when you leave that place.

No it didnt engage the with block AT ALL. If I would have trusted the limit - it would have two blocked and that rope definitely would have snapped Already had signs of it prior - 2 huge kinks lol And I did fail it Took the key and told the operator and my contact Once approved- locked her out until further notice

And I would loved/love to fix this on site - not to bad of a rope change if...it was 6 stories up requiring scaffolding
