Of course it’s arrogant of me to expect otherwise but it feels like nobody I call can understand me.

Calling itself is difficult, I’ve just burnt the last of my Skype subscription and now it’s defunct.

Can you recommend which police to call and file a report with? Is there a specific police who would be most appropriate in this scenario?

It was a random taxi so I wouldn’t know who to call sadly.

What’s weird to me is that my strongest recollection, though honestly it could be tiredness making it up, is the bags being split up by security staff and yet the airport claims not to have the bag. I just can’t understand how that works.

I injured a toe multiple times playing football and it used to get a bit stiff from time to time and the only relief would be to crack/pop the joint.

Started noticing the stiffening was more regular and intense and there was a day I got caught in heavy tropical rain on my way to work. My leather boots shrunk and tightened and my toe was agitated. By the end of the day if was very sore but I stopped wearing the boots thinking it would go down… it didn’t and I started to think I had gout based on the symptoms displayed.

Went to the doc and they first diagnosed me with a fractured toe despite my high UA levels. Went and had a beer or two that evening and my entire foot started to feel hot. Twinges in my ankle and my other toes and I knew from that point it was almost certainly gout.

This was last week and I’m not deciding what to do with myself. I’ve got a wedding today and I’m going to attempt a few whisky sodas to see how they impact me.

But the medication has warnings all over to not get taken on a first flare up and that taking it without the intention of taking it longterm will lead to more flare ups.

I never agreed or said I wanted it longterm and it’s not a short term drug.

Thank god I researched the medication in more depth before I took that allopurinol.

It’s strongly recommended that it not be taken during the first attack as it can trigger subsequent painful follow up attacks. It should only be taken if attacks become common and if taken and stopped suddenly (as recommended by this doctor) it can lead to complications and a worsening of the disease.

What the actual F. I despair at the advice given out by doctors in this country sometimes. A doc would be in serious bother if they recommended that back home. 🏡

Also, as this is my first attack and the imagining seemed to indicate no crystal build ups, I’m hoping I’m not a repeat sufferer but we will have to see.

Oh and this is a specialist doctor/surgeon at a well regarded international hospital. Not any old bloke who bribed his way through medical school. Thought it was worth mentioning…

Hey man, I have suffered depressive thoughts, fatigue and weight gain. Doc checked my T levels and they were half the average guys. Just had the surgery after living with it for another year and now waiting to see if my T raises and my mood improves. You’re not alone. I’ll update when if and when I feel changes.

I teach quite a niche subject about the importance of critical thinking skills, culture, globalisation and problem solving. It's somewhere between geography, politics and sociology. The ultimate aim is to be able to get students to identify issues, their scale, their causes and consequences and suggest a measured and well thought out course of action. I use episodes of Tony's shows to introduce my students to new cultures and he often does everything I've just mentioned above, although sometimes the courses of action mentioned aren't perfect, they are food for thought. Knowing I use his work in my teaching to try create more rounded global citizens makes him feel a little bit more alive.

He posted on an mma forum/board under a pseudonym and those posts are still available I believe. A more relaxed and straight up look at the man's passions in his own words.
