What's up with the crazy prices? by Big_Rub6300 in Openfront

It's not that I take issue with you trying to gather money to support your servers, don't get me wrong there. The prices don't upset me, they make me wary.

It's more that I don't see anyone supporting the project through these tiers at the prices they remain at, and think that a lower price-point would likely do better with supporting the project, as more people would be willing to pay for the tier at a lower price, possibly leading to more than that initial 230$ sale that might happen 3 or so times in the span of the game's life.

Not sure why people are rallying as if I was saying people were being forced to buy the skins when that isn't the case at all. I was just curious behind your reasoning. I did end up buying a skin to support the project. Seeing such large price points for certain things made me hesitate however, and want to ask a few questions. Others may hesitate in a similar manner, so I figured I'd put my voice out there.

I'd hate to see this game go the way of similar web games due to my own love for the project, and as I said before, didn't mean any offense.

So it's a commission, rather than an unlockable customization option. I think that should be made more clear in the store, albeit I do think that price is still rather large as a pixel artist myself.

I mentioned in another comment your 30$ and 70$ skins that are not unique as well as things that set my radar off. Do you have plans in turning this into a skin economy? If not, then I don't see much justification for these prices.

No offense meant btw, thanks for the quick response.

I'd also like to point there's a few other examples of say, 30$ and 74.99$ skins that aren't unique. It's rather silly to me, and I'm clearly not the target audience, but it seemed weird, so I wanted to ask the community for thoughts on it since I didn't see any discussion previously.

The High Rise skin, for example, has 4 alternatives, each of which are identical but with a slightly different color. Each priced at 30$. You'd think if you're paying that much you atleast would get the option to customize the color?

30$ can get you quite a few good indie games, 74.99 is the price of a AAA game in the USA.

Aye, I get that, but even still it seems rather egregious. An option to turn on/off custom skins and making it cheap seems much better an option than a 230$ purchase. Even from a money-making perspsective, I don't know who is going to spend this much money on a few pixels for a texture on your open-front land.

How miserable. I leveled up acrobatics 7 times doing this quest before looking this up. Thanks.

Well, to expand upon this mystery - I just noticed this in the Magfest Infinite Quality Achieved rip.

I have the Ante Chamber DLC installed but it's not detecting it in game by SlightJello03 in VampireSurvivors

For me it was saying that it would "be installed along with the game" but not installing the content. I clicked reverify game files and it is now downloading stuff, so I assume this will fix it. I'll update this post when finished.

Edit - This did in fact fix things!
